I appreciate I’m not supposed to have a ‘hard’ wired dash cam fitted after having taken delivery of the car. Anyone know if it would it be OK to have one ‘hard’ wired if I go back to the dealership who supplied the car? Don’t really like the idea of dash cam cables hanging around the windscreen.
My understanding of the Motability rule is to ensure that the car car electronics are not interfered with by improper wiring leading to warranty issues. Whilst most will use a professional installer, many people install themselves so I think it’s easier to have a blanket after market ban.
I would imagine that if they permit the supply and installation of one by the dealer pre installation, there would be a good chance they would permit it retro fitted under same terms.
