      Which Mobility Car

Some Petrol Audi’s have seen a reduction, only but £50 – £150. Mercedes EQA – £2000 reduction to a bargain £5999 Advance Payment.

It seems to be that, currently, Motability is failing its customers. Largest fleet provider and these are the best deals they can negotiate with their manufacturers.

3.5 years ago, the AP for our ICE vehicle was about £1800. Now compatible cars are at least £4k and prices are jumping further away from our budget.
Extended until end of 2025 but then who knows.

Felling very let down and disappointed

Remaining stock of out going models may see a reduction, like the EQA has.

Not really, because the price of the ICE vehicles with the lower AP would likely be £15k less than the BEV with the higher AP now

Sorry Paul, I don’t quite follow what you’ve said. All I know is that if I was to bite the bullet and change vehicle. A comparable ICE/mild or full hybrid car with the features we need is £3.5k to £4k AP. That’s at least double what we needed 3.5 years ago, and I don’t think you are even allowed to extend to five years anymore.
I cannot use an EV as no off street parking.

Seriously starting to think I’ll just buy a 2nd hand car for around 6-7k and pocket the monthly payment.

AP’s plus the monthly payment are just too high when most models aren’t even top spec! I’d expect a lot of this AP’s to go down over the course of this quarter, but that just makes it more maddening, and feels like Motability customers are getting conned into parting with big lumps of money whilst also fearing taht they could miss out on reduced AP’s on the same vehicle later on…..both Motability and the manufacturers have created a lot of uncertainty for a lot of disabled people.

                  It’s not on really.

Megane E-Tech came down, £399 for the top of the range Iconic. Thats got to be the best bargain on Motability now.

KIA Sportage 1.6T GDI 241 PHEV GT-Line S (Top Spec) 5dr Auto AWD.

                        Was £4599 – Reduced now to £2749 = £1850 Saving.

                        Good deal in my opinion.

Had one on order at old AP, which turned up 2 months early at end of May, but cancelled due to an incompatible accessory that was paid for 3 months in advance.

Turned out the accessory “Side steps illuminated” is ONLY compatible with ICE/ HEV model, NOT the PHEV model. Even though the KIA online configurator allows configuration  – with no metion at all of compatibility/ incompatibility.  Was only informed when KIA UK port went to physically fit the option. Was VERY disappointed at the “lack of competence” by “all parties concered” i.e KIA UK & Dealer. Especially as dealer insisted I paid for all accessories 3 months in advance, before even vehicle was made.

But glad I did, considering I would have overpaid by £1850.

Decided to go with the new Hyundai MY25 Tuscon “facelift” equivalent instead. Just waiting for Hyundai UK to add the “Lux pack – Smart Park Assist” option to the Hyundai factory ordering system. This option is on the UK spec sheet PDF, but not available to order right now. Spoke to KIA UK customer services earlier this week, and the “supply team” confirmed option DOES exist, and to call back in a week for an update.

KIA probably reduced the AP on this Sportage model because, it’s rumoured the MY25 “Facelift” Sportage, is due to start production in Nov 24.

The Kia still has the 66kw electric motor and won’t get the 72kw untill later this year, hence the slight power difference between the 2 cars.

Enjoying mine, hope you get yours soon.
