Is anyone really suggesting to Effkay that dismantling the interior of a leased car to potentially improve the sound system is a reasonable thing to do? Does the he/she have the skills, the guidance, the special tools? Has this thread got a little out of hand?
Hahah I definitely dont have the knowledge or upper body strength to MacGyver my way through this!
But all jokes aside, I would not recommend anyone does this, even if they go to an audio shop as this will nullify your order.
I had a talk to the original dealer, who explained this is down to the way the cars are insured and making such modifications wont allow the car to be insured under the scheme. He was also a bit annoyed and said I undermined him by going to another garage near by. I assume they share the same appointment booking system or something. Either way, I explained this was on the advice of motability, and that is exactly what I followed. Funny he just didn’t say this to me on the day or in the reply he sent me when I sent him the spec I wanted.
Anyway, he has said to me to send a new list with only the “essentials” so he can ask Motability if they will allow these additions, as I asked if fog lights were permitted or not.
I am so damn confused with what I can and cannot order, so I might just order the actual car without “modifying” it in anyway at all.
