I don’t understand why folk take what other’s say literally. I rather think @MickC was being sarcastically joking about inflated AP’s and whats going on in the world, rather than derogatory.
Then it’d be “8k for a Nissan”, not “8k for a Datsun”.
The only reason to call a Nissan “Datsun” is the perceived cheapness that it attaches. I said i never understood why “Datsun” is used as a derogatory term (whether or not he meant to be derogatory or funny doesn’t matter at all, it doesn’t change the connotation).
