Had a call from our dealer re our x1 today to tell me he would have our car next week, which backs up what I had been told by bmw genius, shame I cannot pick it up till 21 December, as that’s our motability renewal date, must be a unique situation at the moment for a car to be sat at the dealers for 4 weeks as it arrived too early. We could only submit motability paperwork on 20 sep, but he did order the car from bmw mid august when we went for test drive as he said he knew delays were coming up.
That’s brilliant news Andy. Well done. As you say, a unique experience in the current climate! Out of interest, did you add any options to the base car? Mine was fairly quick at just under 5 months, but I added quite a few options (Tech Packs 1 & 2, Sport Seats, Sun Protection Glass & Harman/kardon) and was therefore quite ‘chip heavy’! In fact, I couldn’t have the Harman/kardon in the end as BMW couldn’t supply that option on any model where it wasn’t standard. Thankfully I’m happy with the standard sound system so ended up saving a few quid.
