20 minutes getting through last week and they have a dedicated menu for EV owners to talk you out of cancelling your electric car due to range not being as advertised.
Really unhelpful and combative, not the Motability of old.
Have now been informed that my car is a write off, and I’d usually be allowed the courtesy car for 3 months, but the GAP team at the insurance have made it clear that as I am ordering my replacement, and due to living in a rural location with no public transportation, and due to my mobility needs, that I should be able to keep hold of it until the new car arrives.
I am just coming up to 3 months without my car and that terrified me.
I called Directline and they said I will not be left without a car after 3 months.
Was your Passat a white one? Are you in Yorkshire?
They gave me one, wonder if they have a stock of big old banger’s just for Motability customers :0

MMMmmm!!! so they are rebuilding the car without the radiator that is outstanding?
I would guess they have all the parts and may have had for some time, and it is the body shop that has been the bottle neck and they have been blaming the parts supplier.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the radiator turns up next week and the very next day the car is ready. Making them look great 😉
January 23, 2024 at 10:08 am in reply to: How long should I have a hire car because of an accident? #256031The workshop only had Vauxhall Corsas as courtesy cars.
Directline hired the 4yr old car from a hire company,so that will be costing them.
January 22, 2024 at 1:23 pm in reply to: How long should I have a hire car because of an accident? #255983Because they have said that their parts supplier will have it by the 31st and we are nearly there.
This is the third date provided though.
Am I right in thinking they have only just given the insurance contract to directline?
Maybe not the best option but the cheapest.
January 22, 2024 at 10:56 am in reply to: How long should I have a hire car because of an accident? #255959My father rang the workshop last week.
He used to be in the car trade. He asked for the part numbers for the outstanding parts. We found them online in ten minutes in the UK.
We rang and told the workshop this but not in a nasty way. One part a radiator, had been in production since 2019 and is available for a Vauxhall as well as our electric Peugeot.
We have been given our third date for pick up and we will leave it until the months end before we go to Directline and tell them the workshop aren’t trying, and costing them money for the hire car.
The hire car I am unable to drive that is 4 years old with a service warning light that has been on the whole time we have had it. With no rear wiper-blade in the holder and a reverse gear that will not select, then it does select when you’re not expecting it.
I have not been out this year. 🙁
