Went to VW and got an ID4 that they took out of the showroom for me and I was on the road in 2 weeks.

But we waited to see if the EC40 came on the scheme so we could transfer to that, and it hasn’t so today I cancelled.
I am not bitter, I just don’t care, but I haven’t got a single good word to say about my Volvo experience.
I have memory problems and forgot this post altogether.
Well the reason why it was strange was because they didn’t order the car and we were 10 months before we found out.

They have offered a second C40 that is a cancelled order but again it is in the same colour I don’t want.
They have now gone from saying that it was never ordered to……It was ordered but Motability threw Volvo off the scheme for a few weeks last year and that cancelled the order.
Still waiting and hoping they come up with the car we ordered.
If America Taxes the EU soon I can imagine that a lot of orders will be cancelled.
We’ve been at the mercy of Directline for over 4 months now.
They had us in an 0ld Passat estate to start with and now a Kia Niro 2020 reg that will not unlock at times and lurches into reverse.
We went to get a new battery in the keyfob on Sturday from Eurocar who it is leased from. They did not want to know. We asked if we could have the other key since they wouldn’t change the battery and they refused.
They ended up telling us to phone the breakdown service and get them to do it. Well they flatly refused to do that. We said why are all your hire cars brand new and yet we are in a 4 year old banger. They said that is how it works with Directline.
Hope you don’t have an accident there will be an old banger with your name on it waiting ?
Nope, that’s Volvo in 2024 I’m afraid. Who knows what’s going on? They switched to an agency model and basically the dealers don’t have much say and don’t really know what’s going on. The dealers themselves are not allowed to pull in stock cars (not that there are really any anymore, very few) to use for Motability orders. They have to ask head office permission for everything. Everything seems to be dictated by Volvo UK to them… when they actually feel like communicating that is! A number of us on here & other forums have placed XC40 orders and we’ve all found exactly the same problem, getting the complete truth about our car orders is all but impossible it seems. ? btw – the dealer wasn’t Waylands was it?
Not Waylands, Stoneacre.
