For all the complaining about the RAC here, when I had to call them, the technician was there in about 30 minutes.
Of course, if you are struggling to get RAC assistance ever, you could always try the Skoda Assist which is supported by the AA.

My personal opinion is the Hyundai Kona Advance – the new one looks stunning!
Agreed – 120bhp is way too restrictive now. I don’t think you’ll ever see a PHEV for Under 25’s though.

What about the new Hyundai Kona or Nissan Juke? The new Kona in particular is longer than your Qashqai.
And within the bhp limit, you’re really not going to be able to get that much thrill anyway!
It’s back to you having to go to a dealership and order now.
I’m suprised by how long it took RSA to realise something was up – surely “repairs” taking that much time should be pretty suspicious?

Sounds like your order has been accepted by Motability – so that’s all good. I’m not sure whether now you’ve placed an order it comes up under your current lease – genuinely can’t remember! Could be a case of you needing to sign back into the account.
For the Driving Lessons grant, the expected delivery date has to be within the next 4 months for you to be eligible to apply.
I have the regular Juke in NConnecta trim as an under 25 – believe it’s a similar size to the Kona – but waited 10 months to get it!
Nice car though.
Was the only car I was offered by the grants team!
And they have the means to – there is an online application form – filled it out when applying for my AP Grant.
Reiterate that you are unable to call them.

Call the Motability Charity on 0800 500 3186 with your National Insurance number to hand. They’ll send you a link to an online application form. You’ll need to provide proof of your financial situation as grants are means-tested (for example, benefit letters).
As Laura says, you can state what features you need in a car (eg electric handbrake, heated seats) and they give you a list of cars based on what you have said.
I require adaptations though (remote control steering aid and left foot accelerator) and despite providing an mobility assessment centre report stating that I required these, I was only given funding for a standard steering aid – I had to pay extra for the steering aid that was suitable for my needs.
Hi Laura,
I found this complaint page for the charity: https://www.motability.org.uk/contact-us/motability-the-charity-complaint-process/
It does suggest you should be able to escalate to a Team Manager as well, so I’m not sure why they refused that on Friday.
Hi,
Motability (operations?) are the one’s who initially accept the order, but the Motability grants team do have the ability to refuse to give a grant on a vehicle.
I really don’t understand why the grants team are being so difficult, Laura. I had a grant approved for a small SUV that suited my needs last year.
