Contact the RAC who are provided through Motability. In theory you should get better support as they’re aware it’s a disabled driver.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
April 15, 2024 at 4:19 pm #272921April 15, 2024 at 4:45 pm #272923I’d definitely start with RAC, see if they can give you a response time. If it’s going to be a long time, try Skoda Assist. Whoever comes first wins!!

Your Scheme vehicle is covered by the RAC for breakdown assistance during your lease.
This cover does not include any other vehicle you travel in.
Report your breakdown
Download the myRAC app
Downloading the myRAC app to your smartphone is the quickest and easiest way to report a breakdown to the RAC. The app will pinpoint your location even if you are not sure where you are, and you will receive regular updates on your patrol’s arrival time.Download the app through the RAC website.
Download the app Opens in a new tab or windowReport your breakdown online
You can report your breakdown online to the RAC. You will only need to enter a few details and you will get a confirmation call and text plus regular updates.Report your breakdown
Alternatively, you can call the RAC on 0800 731 1173. They will try to get someone out to you within 45 minutes but this can vary at busy times.

Good luck with better support
April 16, 2024 at 8:12 pm #275024I’ve always thought you had to use RAC with a motability car.

"Come on BYD Seal!"April 16, 2024 at 9:13 pm #275027For all the complaining about the RAC here, when I had to call them, the technician was there in about 30 minutes.
Of course, if you are struggling to get RAC assistance ever, you could always try the Skoda Assist which is supported by the AA.

April 18, 2024 at 8:37 am #275796They’re supposed to aim at 45 minutes for us. Last time I called them and they said several hours the woman laughed then hit my head off saying that’s for those on motorways (it isn’t).
I’ve had 4 breakdowns now and RAC has been poo each time, last time I hit so fed up I called motability for a taxi and left the car where it was.
Another time they “located” me in London when I was in Norfolk this was despite me giving them the road A number and local businesses nearby.
If you have a breakdown and need a hire car and use Skoda assist you could be stuffed as that’s all handled by the RAC. So despite issues some have a positive response, depends where you are and your luck.
April 18, 2024 at 8:52 am #275798As already mentioned Škoda Assist is handled by the AA.

Skoda assist is with the AA mate 🙂
April 18, 2024 at 12:53 pm #275834I don’t get the relevance? I said use the RAC or you won’t get a hire car, and the AA is no better had to call them last week from hire car waited nearly 2 hours for them to bring their universal spare wheel so I could drive home.
The only breakdown service I have ever recommended is Green Flag I have never waited longer than and hour at roadside. Obviously not an option here of course.
I had a flatbed booked to collect car from home to the dealer years ago and they were 20 mins late so I called up to confirm they were coming and lady issues grovelling apology gave me £50 cheque and 50% off renewal without me saying a thing and I was sat at home so didn’t care anyway.
April 18, 2024 at 2:21 pm #275841Blimey. Don’t have much luck with cars do you.
April 18, 2024 at 6:32 pm #275853I have RAC cover for my private car and have used them twice (never had a breakdown in a motability car), both times they were with me quickly – 30 mins and 40 mins and they were fantastic. Followed me to tyre place and helped speed things up by working with them. My mum has AA and again has only had excellent service from them on the one occasion when her clutch went. So I for one am happy with both AA and RAC, of course accepting that some certainly don’t seem to be as lucky.
