Managed to find a new one at a dealership just outside of London, mobility very kindly transferred over my application after a bit hassle from my original dealer.
My car is ready for handover at the end of this week coming due to the 5 days notice they need to give.
This forum has been very helpful, many thanks all!
Okay thank you both, good thing I asked here first!
I know the best thing to do is ask my dealer however I’m just not comfortable with that at the moment, especially if it’s something unheard of.
Hi All,
Not sure if this has been asked before but has anyone ever been able to pay extra for a higher spec or trim that’s not available on the scheme?
For example the normal Audi q3 s line 35 etc being changed to the sport back version?
If anyone has experience with this, with any dealership could you advise, what did you get and how much extra you may have paid please?
Yeah, I gave my dealership a call and was advised by someone (who wasn’t the dealer I ordered with as he was busy) that I’d receive 2 emails directly from Mercedes, the first one when it’s being built and the second once it’s off the production line, I’m not sure how true this is?
Kinda annoying that this wasn’t explained to me to the first time round but it is what it is.
My dealer initially had no plans in showing me the premium trim, he took me straight to executive and acted as though that was the only model available, only made it clear that because I was on mobility I couldn’t get a sunroof and I also couldn’t choose the colour white, it just felt like he was more interested in telling me what was not available rather than actually helping me choose someone suitable, he went through no other options with me.
It wasn’t until he could see that I wasn’t very sure about the executive trim (especially as I favourited the premium on my mobility account and because of my disorder I didn’t think to say anything) he casually threw in that the premium trim was available however they didn’t have one for me to sit in, I could only look at one as it was a customer order waiting to be picked up.
I just hope I’m not waiting 3/4 months just to get a build slot.
I’m glad to hear you got yours before it was removed!!
Just the premium, the executive isn’t too different however the 20” wheels on the premium stood out to me. Definitely would’ve chosen the premium plus if it was still available.
The Tiguan has a lovely exterior but it’s just a bit too big for me as this will be my first car and BMW has never really been my style and the models I like, e.g X4 isn’t available on the scheme and probably won’t be.
I do hope the advance payments improve but that’s wishful thinking.
Many thanks for your advice Chris!
@cw Hi no I meant the GLA Premium is off the scheme. I was considering to look at some Audis but now that the Gla is off the scheme I’ll just stick with my current order.
and I 100% agree that the interior for Audi is very dated.
@jaycali thank you for responding. I ordered back in December however my dealer just doesn’t offer up any useful information so I’ve been very much in the dark. Was looking for another dealer (which is why I asked about Audi) but now it’s off the scheme, I’m assuming means there’s a demand they might be struggling with.
Was assuming that I’d have delivery end of February as that when it says my payments will start in the online agreement.
But from your response, I’m looking at a May delivery date, possibly later.
Hi,
or just anyone waiting on a Mercedes or Audi period?
read a few threads and the only example I can find is when Mercedes first came back on the scheme.
Would be useful to know of anything more recent before ordering.
