A fantastic car, one I would have ordered if there had been a bit more “real life” choice. Great colour choice too.
Superb car and a great spec, particularly adaptive cruise. Hope you have 3 years of great motoring.
Q3 will be interesting to see if the upward trend in AP and downwards trend in choice continues? I was considering leaving the scheme until the new guidelines were announced at the end of last year. I think Motability now need to look at increasing the AP to £5000 for auto and £4000 for manuals and do away with the 200bhp rule or increase it to 240 or 250 as well as increasing the rrp to say £40k. This would give people the choice of cars which actually meet their needs. Up the base model limit to £30k too. If cars work out too expensive they won’t appear but lots more will. What some consider expensive and fancy options are essential for many, heated seats, reversing cameras, auto parking, acc etc.
I had a 1 series 120d. On a long run, with sensible driving I achieved over 70mpg on one occasion and often 60+. I have an Octavia 1.4tsi dsg and achieve over 60mpg on some long runs and very often over 50. I have averaged 46 since new and Equa say I should get 40.9. When I take delivery of the X1 I would expect around 39-40mpg based on Equa’s 34.4. Honest John indicates 36.3 vs 44.8 official for x drive and given s drive is 48.7 this would equate to 39-40 too.
Equa suggest real life 34.4mpg for 20i and 42.2 for the 20d.
I have been advised a build week commencing July 1st and latest delivery to dealer 22nd July. Like you I’m happy with that, 16 weeks from ordering is pretty good nowadays.
If Motability are reading this?
Three things we need to see.
1. Ability to search for cars added in last, say, 14 days.
2. Expanded price search, currently ends at £2000+.
3. The most important. An up to date price list of cars which are actually available to order.
I spoke with Motability several weeks ago to advise a number of Skoda models were no longer available to order but were still advertised and despite a promise to investigate, nothing has happened. There is a post about the CR-V and another about the Sportage, all with similar stories.
We need a search engine fit for purpose, please.
This, in my opinion, is an excellent forum, which has saved me money on my next Motability car. I sometimes find some posts tiresome and repetitive, and I suspect others may feel the same about some of mine from time to time. We don’t agree all the time but, in the main, respect other posters, their opinions and points of view.
And remember that hundreds of those 2560 cars are not actually available to order.
I wouldn’t hold your breath. I ordered 3 weeks ago and was given mid/late July which I took as late July. Latest online update is probably late August with the car not scheduled to be built until July at the earliest. If this schedule slips I am going to see what’s available in Q3 and see what stock cars are available.
BMW production lines for the X1 are full with existing orders.
