This is really frustrating as the reality is that there are probably no more than a few hundred cars actually available to order and a few hundred more from stock. Interesting to see q4 on October 1st.
I hope KIA introduce the new 1.4 petrol which is in the new Ceed.
Have just filled up, computer said 44, actual 42. It’s possible the actual may be a bit higher as I filled the tank to the brim and whilst the car came with a “full tank” it’s possible it was a couple of litres or so short? Happy with 42.
A poor show by much of the car industry as they knew this was happening a while ago.
A good addition to the scheme. Welcome with so many cars dropping off even temporarily. I see Skoda have stopped the 1.2 tsi and 1.6 tdi Kodiaq. Cheapest now 29k on their website.
August 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm in reply to: Top 25 things that will influence your next car purchase #58797Pretty comprehensive list. Surprised to see equipment levels isn’t on the list. Unless I am going blind!
I managed apps 33 on a half hour test drive of a 1.4tsi Kodiaq dsg around the various country lanes near home.

Just 5 Kodiaq cars on scheme now.
I dew this to their attention in March and April and, as you can see, no action appears to have been taken.
Love the beaches in Dorset, Studland Bay and Sandbanks in particular. Back to topic, your posts led me to do some research and I will update in the next few days. Think your choice of car is spot on, great car and great price too.
Whenever I have ordered a new car a deposit was required, typically 10% of the final price to protect the dealer in case of cancellation . On motability I have paid a deposit on all but one lease, this time just £100 and max was £1k on a bmw with £1500 extras. Always worth having everything in writing.
This is an interesting thread and a question which has cropped up before on other forums. My understanding is that this car cannot now be transferred to another Motability customer as Motability only supply brand new cars, and, as this one is already registered (and in the name of the applicant, not Motability) it is not considered brand new. It’s very rare for dealers to register the car without the customer present, the paperwork signed and money handed over for exactly the reasons highlighted, and with examples like this, will probably lead to a tightening of local dealers guidelines.
The Open. Peter Alliss would not approve of the “british Open!”
Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear this. I have an X1 on order which has been delayed until mid/late August and I have asked the dealer to handover as soon as possible in September so I can have a 68 plate and I am on holiday in late August too. My current car, which I collected in July 2015 (about the 7th or 8th) as actually registered by the dealer on 30th June so they could secure a Motability “bonus” which I thought was a bit sneaky and not wanting the same to happen this time I spoke with Motability on Saturday. They agreed it was sneaky but also said that dealers will not register the car until collection for the very reasons you state, as effectively the car is now second-hand and its value has fallen.
Just one point to which I am sure you have the answer. As the car is now registered could it go to someone else on Motability as it is basically not a “new” car?
I can fully concur with this.
Two comments, first relating to this post and the second, more general.
MrP. I would try and seek some sort of legal advice and appeal. My experience with Ombudsmen is not great and if you look at reviews on trustpilot and others you will get a flavour.
There is a lesson her for all of us and I have read many posts where people often say they have had some modification’s (usually cosmetic) or repairs carried out. You do so at your peril.
One out of two predictions. Another European winner, guaranteed.
Another glance at half time and we are minus 34 more at 2366 and just 879 automatic .
July 6, 2018 at 3:34 pm in reply to: Optional Extras payable when placing order or on collection #55704All depends on dealer and which options you require and their cost. Generally if its a few hundred pounds of extras most dealers will take a token payment or nothing at all but if it’s a few thousand they will normally require some money up front in case you cancel. A car with a few extras is easier for them to sell than one loaded with expensive options . Best bet is to speak with the dealer to establish what their policy is.
I won’t predict the England game but will have a bash at the other three. I’m going out on a limb and plumping for Uruguay, Belgium and Croatia.
Quick look at Motability and we have lost 141 cars in a few days, down to 2400.
I’m on the lookout for a fan zone somewhere on the south coast as it looks a scorcher of a weekend. Will have a rummage online and see what’s on offer.
Its all been said. Roll on Saturday 3 pm.
Shall be down our village local, free half time snacks and money off all drinks until the 1st goal or card.
