Just an update to this: The dealer managed to pull a Sportline from the docks, and it arrived with him about a week ago. However, as I use an electric trigger throttle (Brig-Ayd), there isn’t a fitting kit for the Mk2 Kodiak! The only option I have is to have a Veigel electric throttle, which has to be fitted by Veigel in their own workshop (apparently they haven’t done one of these yet). They can’t fit mine in until mid-January, so a long wait!
congrats on at least getting one that seems to be the hardest part when i asked just for shits and giggles i was told May. It will definitely be worth the wait I absolutely love mine 😂. I took delivery of my Sel plug in last Friday. Wasn’t drama free mind they’re having to make me up a new key as they lost one lol 😆 expensive mistake to make. Also they completely forgot to charge me for the winter pack lol 😆
Hopefully it will go in nice and smooth for you i don’t think it would be to different to the mk 1 and probably less different to the face lift.
I’ve been in today picking up rubber mats/boot tray thingy and alot of the internal stuff is exactly the same with a new number 😂 they have added a few new things aswell.

Looking on my Skoda app I only had one battery charge. That charge run out in less than 48 hours. But most of my driving so far been stuck in heavy traffic as I live around The Queen Elizabeth bridge between Essex and Kent. My average fuel is sitting 57.1 mpg my average speed is only 17 miles so you can tell how bad the road condition are. Under the circumstances I think that is excellent. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to take it on a run yet. My wife and I do not drive fast but the car can accelerate fast enough when needed but I am unsure what you are used too, so it’s hard to judge. I do not feel I need the extra power of the electric motor although it would be very welcoming if I was able to have a home charger. Currently waiting on a couple of different cards to use my electric away from the home. BP Pulse and Octopus Energy. BigDan I asked my dealer they only have one Kodiaq 7 seater Diesel and it’s full of extras sitting at the docks. They have two that are due to be shipped from factory but they said they will not be available for two months roughly. They said most of the 30 showing on the system around 2 weeks ago are now sold.. Sorry Bud.
how you getting on with it ? I should be picking up a phev this week possibly as early as Monday. Managed to get one transferred locally and delivered by driver to my showroom with the 4 day rule stuff done before delivery. Getting excited lol 😆
@bigdan110 Thanks for the “heads-up”. Just got off the phone to the dealer, and they’ve changed my order to the Sportline. I had added the Driving Assistance package to the SEL for £810, so changing to the Sportline, gives me this as standard, plus DCC all for £200 more. A no-brainer! Going in tomorrow to sign the new paperwork.
np lol I just got the go ahead from grants team to order the normal phev they didn’t even put up a fight lol 😅
November 5, 2024 at 12:34 am in reply to: How much would I save Electric vs Petrol? My petrol figures below #292831Average 28mpg and do 15,000 miles per year. I am struggling to understand what all the electic stuff means? I heard octopus energy offer cheap electricity over night or something but what would that be? I currently spend around 400 a month on fuel and was wondering what it would cost me with a electric octopus energy tarriff. I understand I can google it a bit but I am not sure of the best price per kwh?? is and also it wont let me provide accurate MPG any help would be great.. Also the electric car i am looking at is : 157kW GT 73kWh 5dr Auto Thank you guys
I’d be tempted to wait and see if the GT 97kwh comes on scheme supposed to get up to 415 miles, its also £52k so dont hold your breath. I imagine with 6 people you will definitely need something with extra range as all that weight will likely drain those miles quicker.
Pretty sure you need provisional and theory test needs to be passed to be put on as driver.
I would just be concerned when the electric ran out and you are under petrol power only. I had the Tiguan All space 150. Lovely motor that just lacked a wee bit in power. 190 is nice in a car of this size. Currently running about in an SD4 Freelander. You do notice the 184bhp, especially when overtaking
you say this but they also do it with just the normal petrol mild hybrid at 150bhp now that id possibly worry about being underpowered.
but modern phevs don’t completely drain they have a reserve and still have enough carry over regeneration to prevent the drastic reduction in power you refer to . Most modern phevs can run completely without plugging in and drive as a self charging hybrid through regenerative driving hits the mpg though. Think back to any time you have coasted in a normal car that’s all free charge plus some charge from everything left over from acceleration ect . there are modes on the phev as well so you can charge while driving allowing you to prepare it for when needed.
There is a guy on YouTube that literally test drives phevs ect testing real word mpg at “zero” charge its astonishing how good some cars are now
I recently took a drive with my father in law on the m1 at 80 he was on battery power lol 😆 I was honestly like wtf what sorcery is this 😂 and that was in a 3 year old Toyota auris estate 😅
Honestly if your worried and in the market test drive one, the wait time for deisels is long 😅
Would have been tempting had it been the 190 diesel. Too big a car for small petrol engine.
they may well add it later , honestly go for a test drive the electric moter makes it pull like a truck when needed , honestly the sportlines got like 10k+ worth of extras . If i had the cash I’d definitely get it im limited to the deisel by grant unfortunately 😫
I was a Motability user until 2 years ago. The choice at the time of my last renewal wasn’t brilliant, so I opted to buy a VW Tiguan Allspace (Elegance) I’ve decided to look around for a new vehicle, and as VW are discontinuing the Allspace (to be replaced by the Tayron next year) I’ve recently had test drives in the Hyundai Tucson Ultimate and Skoda Kodiak iV SEL. The Tucson, while well specced, I feel is a bit too small for me (I keep an Electric Mobility Vista DX scooter in the boot). The Kodiak iV is a better size (built on the same EQB platform as the Allspace), but I just wonder if anyone has any experience of the Kodiak iV. I feel ready to jump into “PHEV world”. My next dilemma would be “do I buy, or return to the Motability fold?” I have found an adaptation company who would transfer my adaptations (electronic trigger accelerator and hoist) to a purchased vehicle, so no massive outlay there. I’m guessing that Motability wouldn’t allow a transfer to one of their vehicles though, so about £1100 for new adaptations if I took that route. Any opinions welcome. Thanks
not sure if you saw it but the sportline phev just came on scheme best for extras/options on the kodiaq phev for not much more ap 😉 ….. only £4999 😆
I originally wanted the diesel too in a SEL. But the PHEV was in the colour I wanted. But the fuel to MPG is really good on all models. If you can have the Phev with wall charger you get great milage.
yeah that’s the problem I want the phev I’m not allowed the phev 😅 grant is specifically for 7 seater so I can only get deisel if they are quick about it and not much more maybe i could get the sportline assuming i get on with the seats 😅, seems to be alot of 4×4 sitting around dealerships 😂
Yeah I did notice plenty with extras on the stock finder . I’m limited by my grant unfortunately after inclusion of Se L upgrade I’m limited to another 550 so not really any other options on extras 😅 Also I’m not sure what port would be shipped my way I’m literally round the corner from group 1 skoda in essex/southend
Bro The Dartford one is a large group. That’s is not that far from you. I had to pay for the wheels up grade. Personally I don’t even like them but they were a cheap extra at £115 , the paint would of been a extra too but we get the metallic free of charge on MB. So just ask to see the list and what extra’s they have and go from there. The Guy I dealt with is Deliz. He might be off on Maternity. Or just back at work now.. Another nice guy there is James. I be happy to enquire for you if you like me too. I would need your model your looking for Se Or Sel and what fuel model you want..
I was probably going to call Dartford first I’m literally after the 7 seat deisel Sel , I did notice alot of what’s available had the more expensive wheels my dealer didn’t even ask lol probably as i found out yesterday he was going on holiday….definitely not waiting on the build day though 😂 side quest activated 😉 😅

Sourced By Skoda Dartford- Great customer service
- Really lovely car and amazing quality All sorted in 10 days
again very lucky I just got my build date …. week 3 2025. So I’ll be lucky to have mine without the new new plate 😂
I did Order a Hyundai in May 2nd but the service from Hyundia was very very poor. In fact I will never order another Hyundai. So I was very lucky with my Skoda. All I can say is when you do get it you will find the car amazing…
tomorrow ill be phoning about to see who’s got what in stock that’ll let motability have one lol 😆 so far looks like closest i can get is Cambridge or bury St edmonds 😅 assuming the cars can even go on motability

Lucky you getting such a short lead time I’m still waiting on my sucky deisel SeL to be built 😂 if it wasn’t for the fact I had a grant specifically for a 7 seater I would have probably had that exact one lol as I’m only over the bridge 😂 still can’t complain to much I only had to put 200 towards the ap 😅
I have to wait till after Christmas 😂 it’s killing me lol 😆
October 19, 2024 at 4:18 pm in reply to: Motability Foundation Grant – electric vehicle refusal #291350Ask them for a granny charger , find a melted one on Ebay . Return car due to nearly setting house on fire… j/k 😅🤷
Depending on your mileage you may be able to get away with a granny charger.
One weird thing might be to talk to discretionary housing team or council grants team to see of they would grant you the money for it given the circumstances that it is essential fot an electric car really and that they wouldn’t let you remove the old one
Judt ordered a skoda kodiaq 2l deisel se L in black hoping for Christmas delivery 😅😂
October 8, 2024 at 12:22 am in reply to: Motability Foundation Grant – electric vehicle refusal #290458Yup that’s exactly how you do it. I had similar not over 7 seats but the difference between a 60 enyaq and the 85 like seats, adaptive cruise etc. If you can genuinely justify it they generally seem to listen most of the time. Especially if they give you a list of cars and you can show why none are any good and why then show them what will work and why. Sometimes being neuro divergent is a asset, lol.
Definitely though I tend to run on the edge of that double edged sword lol being able to pick out in depth flaws in the cars that most miss really helps😆
Also building a rapport and being brutally honest help lol 😆
I did make my adviser stop mid sentence as she was trying to tell me cannot choose fuel line on the kodiaq its the same car and basic price, she literally loled then apologised for her mistake. Even tho in the end it was a 5 seater and not technically within my grant.
October 7, 2024 at 11:23 pm in reply to: Motability Foundation Grant – electric vehicle refusal #290453Yeah probably helps i literally went to view every large car regardless of ap and gave them the very short list of what I could fit in and use as needed. Slightly annoying I have to get the diesel as it’s the only option for 7 seater adviser said I could have the hybrid or deisel I double checked as I know the hybrid is only 5 seater……. before I mentioned it she was going to write it in specifically 😢😢😢 . Would have probably pinged up on their systems and got rejected but I can dream cant I 😁😂😂😂. 12 weak wait from factory atm ordering tomorrow morning in black se L trim as they were nice enough to basically fully fund ill chip in for the nicer seats 😂.
What did you say to them to get this grant accepted? I heard its really difficult getting accepted, hence why I havent applied yet. Could they have not given you the e5008?
The 5008 has a extremely bulky cockpit and acctuly has less legroom than the 3008 my knees were on the steering wheel 😅 plus to get the spec needed its like 5k+
I’m 6″5 23 stone muscular built size 15 feet 20 inch calves 30 inch thighs think strongman without the gut 😅, I’m literally to wide/tall for most cars/planes ect ,let alone cars on the scheme
Literally did my homework made a list AdHD and hyperfocus do come in handy at times. went with a purpose got photos (not even required) genuinely questioned the showroom guys on the electric vehicles ect spoke to case manager and logically argued my case probably helped i had my case laughing her ass off with the specifics of how things worked/didn’t work 😅 gave her options aswell, it’s cheaper for them to give me a car that just fits then something that would need mods to work but has no ap .
Dacia jogger my head touched roof liner leaning forward to look round pillers ,shoulders/arms were on door frames/windows knees on wheel ect
5008 as i mentioned
Ford kuga was OK ish as long as it was the active, head touching the roof again with sun roof, I wanted a kuga from the start and was biased towards it aswell lol boot space was a bit cramped for what I needed and would need winter pack aswell
X trail, sportage ect same as above tbh boots were just not suitable and the spec needed put it into the 4k ish range
Their grants are higher for 7 seaters without manager authorisation any of the 5 seat cars would have to be argued with managers to get that large a grant on , I could have asked to get the kodiaq iV hybrid but that would have to be authorised and they would have to go through everything again and argue it out possibly to a different result
In the end even though there other cars i could have” made do with ” because i wasn’t having modifications it might have made me return early to have modifications in a shorter space of time , say they gave me the kuga at £2700 + 550 for winter kit and I had to return it in 6 months because I can longer put my chair in and need a hoist or something fitted they end up having to spend good money after bad because of their own stupid terms .
I did say like a month back I could make the long distance electrics work if they gave me swival seats and a roof box hoist thing but they are like 3-5+ grand alone

October 7, 2024 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Motability Foundation Grant – electric vehicle refusal #290423Ive just had my grant increased /approved to £3799 for a 7 seater kodiaq , keep fighting rule out all your options and Hopefully you may get what you need 👍
September 27, 2024 at 2:06 pm in reply to: Motability Foundation Grant – electric vehicle refusal #289403Also one car that might be worth keeping an eye out for release is the dacia Bigster their cheeper attempt to take on the kodiaq ect , May acctuly be within the realms of affordability being a purchase rather than motability 😂. Supposedly they will start around 20k so don’t give up hope , if it’s anything like the jogger will be plenty big enough although dacias are quite basic it may not have an option of electric boot . Ap should be cheaper as it’s a budget car but won’t know till its officially unveiled next month might even get on the scheme before q4 ends but who knows.
September 27, 2024 at 1:18 pm in reply to: Motability Foundation Grant – electric vehicle refusal #289398They do seem to like pulling out the computer says no cheapest option out alot. I mean I get it its a charity but when there is a massive disparity between who they acctuly serve and who they think they serve its a bit of a joke. I know if I had an electric car to charge publicity I’d likely forget i was charging it or avoid charging it altogether to the point it would be recovered frequently 😅 I’ve been well known in my able bodied days to drive places and then walk home only to realise the following day where I left my car 😂
I did get some resistance from my case manager when suggesting certain cars kodiak mainly i simply explained I’d basically test drove everything within and over my grant amount and the only vehicles that were anyway suitable were the kuga the xtrail the 5008 and listed why the kodiaq was better suited/perfect for my needs mainly the seats width and lumbar support ect I did mention other cars that would be acceptable if they gave me a roof box hoist for my chair and swiwal seats but when that costs a good few thousand to sort she soon understood 😉 it’s cheaper to give me what’s standard and suitable then modifying anything else to suite
All those models are 4k ish depending on extras like the kuga need 500 more for heated seats , I believe all have the power tailgate ? Not that i raised that as what i need although i would my partner is 5″2 she wont reach the boot in the skoda to pull it down 😅….the case manager basically agreed with me with what I was saying that it needs reviewing and even the increase to 7 seater wouldn’t get me to what was needed.
That’s why she booked me in to relook at the grant for review after Tuesdays ap change as they might be able to increase it as the grant minimums may increase themselves that in itself would stop the need to review it .
I may still need to go down the same route as you as apparently it’s still above case managers pay grade as that’s the process they can only give standard amounts now apparently. I would definitely go to the ceo. I believe you have a week from final decision to appeal it to the ceo. I wouldn’t even be surprised if they have quarterly budgets to stick to
September 27, 2024 at 6:53 am in reply to: Motability Foundation Grant – electric vehicle refusal #289372I’m in more or less the same situation mainly because I’m too large to fit comfortably in most cars, in fact half my issues probably stem from settling being cramped into far to small a car 😅.
Anyway on to the point of why I needed to join and make this post , today I spoke to my case manager about my grant, the same 750 lots of people seem to be getting. My case manager said the 750 is a generic pre calculated amount everyone gets for the specific level in my case for large suv, after detailed explanations she basically agreed I needed the 7 seater amout £2000 but nothing is suitable on scheme atm within the £2750 inc ncp so she needs to pass it up to her manager to increase further. I’m now waiting for Wednesday as apparently the generic amounts may very well increase with the ap change on Tuesday
I test drove a kodiaq on Monday dealer was convinced the ap should stay the same giving that its only just come back on . Literally the only car I can get/fit in comfortably with my back/hip issues and can fit my wheelchair and dog crate.
Motability wanted me to get the usual selection of electric cars or a jogger my head literally touches the roof liner and my shoulders and arms touching the doors/windows and knees on steering wheel in the jogger.
I literally explained to my case manager that the dealership strongly advised against the combo life erifter ect as with the added weight of equipment plus myself and partner would make the range so low 100 miles max , I’d be having to charge it extremely frequently with no option of charging from home . Put it in relative terms with my case manager like I dont really need to be waiting around charging a car for 30 minutes everytime I need to drive anywhere instant validation from case manager no more push towards electric vehicles from her at least.
What may have helped is they had to go to the big event car thing and my case manager had to try out multiple cars aids ect so had a better understanding of issues i had with vehicles as she had recent experience of the cars on offer . So finger’s crossed this was a mandatory thing for them to get exposure/experience from our points of view.
Brain dump complete hopefully this wall of text helps someone
