Ever wondered where it went and how much it was selling for on the open market.

I looked and found my old car which i handed back at a Skoda dealer localish to me in Sheffield two weeks ago to be precise,i found it being sold on Autotrader by one of the biggest south coast Ford dealers at Hendy Fareham.

The mileage when handed back was 17730 and i had had the car detailed inside and out.

The mileage has risen to 18032 the factory all weather rubber mats have dissappeared which i left in the car.

The car looks just like when i gave it back, except i left 80 miles wurth of fuel in the tank.

I do hope they have rectified the one fault it was handed back with the DPF required replacing as it had an internal crack that was making the engine check light come on,it was diagnosed at my local dealers a month before but the part was on back order and was going to cost a whopping £1400,they phoned me the day before hand back day to say it had arrived would i like to make a booking.

I told Motability about the situation they said they would arrange something.

I the last six months or so the car has had two new front tyres,a new battery, new wiper blades, new electric windscreen washer jets.

Great car i would have had another of the Kuga facelifted cars, but the AP’s shafted me.

We handed back our BMW X1 to a Hyundai dealership in Gloucestershire when we took deliver of our Tucson. A month or two later I found it (also through AutoTrader) at a BMW specialist in North London. They had obviously bought it through a Motability auction. It’s now sold. Whoever bought it has got themselves a peach. It was a superb car and nothing needed sorting out. All it needed was a wash and clean.

When I handed my Kuga back it ended up with a very unhappy chap in Nottingham!

He got my name and address and wrote to me as he had a recurring fault and asked if I’d had it as well, which I hadn’t.

When I gave him the actual history, including it being hail stoned to death followed by about 5 months of multiple botched repairs including the roof and bonnet being replaced and them making it worse each time he wasn’t happy!, his garage denied it happened even saying it was a different car!.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

Handed my volvo xc60 back in 2020,i did want to buy it at the end of the lease, but motorbility price was too much.So when it went through BCA auction in walsall 2months later  at 4k less than what what motorbility were asking  me to pay,i was gutted to say the least.,as well as baffled as the price i would of paid for it,was more than the auction price.

As many members have discovered over the years, the price that Motability ask you for is always higher than the actual trade value of the car. The concensus has always been that it’s because Motability want you to take out a new lease and not lose you as a customer.

Handed our Skoda Octavia back to a dealer in the Northwest and found it for sale near Kent for £16,750. It was described as pristine condition, low mileage, ULEZ compliant, all the things I said would mean Motability would make a profit on it.

Book price new was £24,500. The used car dealer is probably making £1500. Take the vat and Motability discount off that new price, then factor in £1000 AP and 3 1/2 years of PIP  and you can see they easily made money out of us.

Spot on. Asking prices are always way too high, especially for a car sold with no warranty, and you can always do far better buying elsewhere. Motability Operations make a lot of profit out of every lease that we take out, so it’s in their interest to make it very unattractive for us to leave.

Our Volvo XC40 went back to the local BMW dealer early this year after 4 years with us. It had only done 15k miles and I’d kept it in showroom condition.

For some reason the Volvo App kept working on my phone (tee hee), so I know that it sat there for 10 days before being driven very gently up to Lincoln, averaging 46 MPG, to a large dealer group, Stoneacre.

It was never advertised on the dealer’s website or Auto trader, so I can only assume that someone had specified that they wanted a low mileage Inscription T4 and it was sourced to order.

The Volvo App stopped working after I tracked it into the workshop a couple of days later.

I handed my car back end November last year and 4 weeks later it was sold.

I looked up the dvla mot checker thing an it was taxed 4 weeks after I handed it back. I looked on autotrader for it, but it wasnt there.

My first MB car, a Citroen Grand Picasso, was exported the week after handover at the local Ford dealer in 2018, I go a letter from the DVLA asking if I was aware it was being exported on xxxx date, if not, then call this number etc.

Didn’t find out where it went, who would want a 73,000 mile Grand Picasso enough to export it, although it was very good inside as we didnt have kids at home (back seats hardly used) and had a boot protector in for the dog & all round all weather mats from day one. Most of the mileage was going on my then 82 mile daily commute.

I just found my old Seat Leon posted on YouTube. The video was dated 2 weeks ago. It was being sold at a Seat dealership in Exeter. Quite a trek from Suffolk. Though unfortunatly its no longer on their website so I guess its been sold before I could see how much they were offering it for.
