All this electricity will be going into to our EV batteries instead of switching the wind farms off.

Hang on….. most of these wind farms are owned by the likes of Eon, NPower, our energy companies basically.

So we have an amount added to our energy bills to pay them to not produce electricity!!

        We’re being done over surely??

That report is a few years out of date so more than likely the reward has gone up.

A timely reminder for those who a get a Warm Home Discount on their electricity its time to apply for the 2018-19 discount.

Trev this why, at least initially, there will be no problems running electric cars. The wind turbines will be filling up the evs during the night, so saving money spent switching them off.

the report is out of date and since then more connections have been made between Scotland and England and Wales so there are more options available to the grid rather than just switching off but evs will make a huge impact here.

But doesn’t the grid need to expand so it can store more energy?

Seems to me obtaining the energy isn’t the problem, simple storage is.

Trev that’s where vehicle to grid comes in, the evs get the electricity overnight, that would have otherwise been lost, and during the day the evs that are plugged in to a v2grid charger can let the grid have some back and they get paid for it.
