Hello all, i know there are a few topics relating to this  and i’m aware of the reasons for delays  but i was just wondering if anybody as been lucky enough to get their order yet? i ordered mine in April 2021 and like everyone else it’s been subject to delays now looking at March build date, i’m not  reassured by the dealer who as been unhelpful  to say the least, six months after the order i contacted him for an update but he couldnt find my order on the system but then called me the day after to say he had initialy given me the wrong order number and gave me another order number.

          Yeah Gary,

Ordered GTD (checks diary) May 2021 – ETA September.

September: build week now early October.

October: build week now end of November.

December: build week now mid January.

I fully understand the delay, I just wish I was kept informed, I’ve had to chase up the sales rep every time for a call back.

Thanks for the reply Chrishush, yes it’s frustrating iv’e not had much contact with the dealer and when i have contacted them i feel as though i’m pestering them, i was told in September by the sales rep i’m confident it will be with you before christmas but the latest email say’s end of March build week so will be over 12 months.

Gary4545, not wishing to be a merchant of doom but I think it’s possible your original number may have been allocated to another car, sincerely hope not. Your’s and Chris plus myself story seems to be the norm, numerous shifting of build dates and not one a confirmed date.  Communications with VW dealers seem to be split, some have regular updates and others like me nothing for 3 months (I ordered April last year).

I recieved an email early August from dealer from Andrew Savvas Director of Volkswaagen, nice fairystory but completely removed from reality. I’ll post if I can find it.

Potential Delays on your Volkswagen Order
                Dear Customer,
We are delighted you have chosen a Volkswagen model and together with your Volkswagen Retailer, aim to inspire you to an outstanding product.

Unfortunately we will have to ask for your patience for the delivery of your new Volkswagen.
In all likelihood, we will not be able to meet our usual delivery times for orders that we provide to your Volkswagen Retailer.

                Supply bottlenecks slow production
This delay is primarily due to bottlenecks I supply  The effects of the global Covid 19 pandemic have led to a significantimpact  on the production and supply chains for electronic components such as semiconductors across all models This is affecting the global automotive industry and Volkswagen is also suffering from these component supply restraints at present. the range of equipment affected extends from the modular infotainment system to sunroofs steering transmission on two bars.
Your Volkswagen retailer will keep you up to date I will current view is that this on satisfactory situation should improve through the second half of 2021. Please be a shirt that Volkswagen is doing everything it can to keep delays a short as possible.

Unfortunately it is likely to be some time before your Volkswagen retailer is able to confirm the final production and a delivery date to you. We are providing frequent updates to your Volkswagen Retailer about the situation.
We understand that the situation is unsatisfactory and disappointing but kindly ask for your patience in these unprecedented times.

                Your sincerely
                Andrew Savvas
                Director of Volkswagen

Thanks for that Ta152,  i fear you could correct about my order being passed on possibly to a private customer, i didn’t realy want to mention it but the reason i posted today was frustration with Vw,   my brother inlaw ordere a GTD  ‘ Private buyer’ in the same spec at the begining of June 2021 six weeks after my order same dealership but different part of the country he has shown me all the correspondence he’s had from the sales rep which is far more than iv’e had and he had a call 2 weeks ago to collect his on the 12th January , i know people are going to say there running a business and they can do what they want but to me it just dosnt seem moraly right.

Doesn’t surprise me to hear a private customer has their car before you. If the policy is to put Motability customers to the back of the queue it would be nice if that information was readily available either on website or from salesperson themselves. Not be long again before they’re screaming out for our business when things calm down and sales targets have to be met.
