received a reply from my landlord today which at first glance looked very promising regarding electric charger etc. yes they will allow a charger to be installed by motability or other approved installer. yay.

so long as the vehicle is parked on an approved hardstanding.

hardstandings can be requested in writing via our website either as an alteration at your own cost or as an adaptation as per the adaptations policy for people with a mobility car.

great thinks i until you read the policy, you need to be a wheelchair user. bummer.

theres no way i could afford it as the bungalow is 30m+ from the road it would cost a bomb. mind a couple more years i could well be in a wheelchair so problem solved lol.

          Agree with @Joss

2nd hand wheelchair out of charity shop or ebay. It’s not as if they are going to check on you after the initial grant application!

It’s not the first time I’ve seen this discrimination and having little use of my left hand and leg I’m able to use a mobility scooter with no problems but unable to use a wheelchair unless its a motorised one.

I think if I remember right that even HMG does not recognise scooter users as disabled as they too always refer to wheelchair user and indeed all the parking spaces we use with our blue badges have an icon of a wheelchair in them so its kind of suggests that if your disabled your a wheelchair user.
