Not sure why Jojoe post of MacMaster was deleted but we are entitled to inform about this Ev Disaster for some of us disabled as they are clearly as pointed out by the two disabled guys telling the truth as they are for some of us not fit for purpose. I myself is lucky to take no notice of the dealers talk and get a petrol still and am very happy I did as I could not physically or Mentally cope with EV charging.

I personally and this is only my opinion because of the white paper relating to evs and 2030/35 they know that motability customers are gaurenteed sales both to the dealers and manufacturers and to some extent given motab the fact of we have % of drivers with ev vehicles
Now personally for me the gripes I have are the range and infrastructure on these vs the counterparts
As he said instavolt £80 for 200 miles is really poor ROI I get it’s ovbs the faster charging in 30 mins etc but still the cars aren’t were they need to be for me just yet
I honestly don’t understand why lpg vehicles aren’t an option or hydrogen gas vehicles different discussions for another day
But the scheme seems to be pricing folk into evs for easy sales in relation to the 2030 stuff
But I was disheartened to here that poor guys not had a car since November 😢
February 5, 2025 at 1:51 pm #297068Something doesn’t ring true on that video and I’m not a fan of EV’s!
February 5, 2025 at 2:09 pm #297073I watched it right through, it was very badly put together and made little sense or provided any actual information. A 39min video where he spends the first 27min waffling about anything and everything apart from the actual subject.
I won’t go into the actual “interview” but a lot of what was said sounds highly unlikely if not totally wrong.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
February 5, 2025 at 2:14 pm #297074As a paraplegic I’m confronted by a daily litany of issues in the real world that makes life a real pain in the arse. BEV access etc are the least of my issues.
I’ve taken a punt on an BEV (it’s currently at the dealer awaiting mods) fully in the knowledge of some big problems relating to us cripples:
Lack of accessible public chargers.
Physical weight of fast charger cables.
And that’s it, I thought the list would be longer. The other issues affect all able bodied BEV users; home charging (without this I wouldn’t get a BEV), the prohibitive costs of public charging, reliability of public chargers, real world range.
I’m prepared to plan my longer journeys (my first test will be a day round trip for work to north Norfolk in couple of weeks) and am happy to drive electric motor vehicles, especially after 2 Mitsubishi PHEVs.
I’m afraid that change is on the way (and it’s for the best) and I hope that us early adopters will help pave the way and help highlight accessibility issues for other users in the future.
blah, blah, blah
February 5, 2025 at 2:29 pm #297076I watched the complete video and decided that I did not want to drive revenue to it. I will pretty much always delete videos from these, I don’t know what to call them, Disruptors? Influencers?
February 5, 2025 at 3:13 pm #297084I must admit there are lots of YouTubers who seem to have an agenda hidden or otherwise about EVs
and of course the same is true of the reverse.
I can only go on my own experience. And would like to make several points
IN MY MOST HUMBLE OPINION
1. BEV are brilliant clean vehicles, tend to be more comfortable and easier to drive
2. IT is imperative or almost necessary to have a home charger to get the very best out of ownership.
3. The charging infrastructure is improving if only slowly and it is far too expensive. Mainly due to location of chargers at motorway services and expensive locations. The sooner lamppost and kerbside chargers become the norm. This will not change and it takes courage and investment by the government to do this.
4. BEV are not for everyone and Motability must accept this fact.5. The actual range of the vehicles will only get better as technology improves.
6. a vehicle with over two hundred miles range is perfectly good for 99% of normal driving day to day.
anyway. My thoughts not a challenge just an opinion. Xxxx
Cheers, all the very best

February 5, 2025 at 3:16 pm #297085I’m a big fan of EV’s we have one and would never go back to ICE.
As for charging, Mrs Joe is a wheelchair user, she could never fill the ICE car up herself. But she can plug in the EV at home and I dare say she could, just about, manage it in one of those large green bays that Gridserve have.
As for the video, I like MacMaster’s food reviews, but I think he’s really let himself down with this video. How does someone living in a flat get forced into an EV? Last time we ordered a new car we had a choice!February 5, 2025 at 3:52 pm #297090I’m a big fan of EV’s we have one and would never go back to ICE. Exactly your not forced but, to be more specific, one guy says he suffers blackouts and fallen a few times charging . If that was the case would he even have a license? The other guy said his went bang but Motabilty haven’t allowed a hire car to drive, whils’t his is in for repair and 14hrs to get to Cornwall, double the time it would take in an ICE lol.

Don’t know which Cornwall he went to but last year it took us 7 hours including rest stops and charging. And we are further north than Sheffield.

Well done you and just to add in the norm
If someone was able to top up at a petrol station then doing the same at a EV charger is often a breeze
No more having to go to the pay desk and having to queue when EV charging
Sainsburys smart charge stations are setting the standard and are ALL fully accessible
They have charging hubs located at Sainsbury’s stores around the UK, all with access to 24/7 driver support. see link then look for smart charger location map link
If like me home charging is the norm then like me being the average car driver in the UK who only ever drives between 5,000 and 8,000 miles per year then any accessibility issues that may be faced on the rare occcassions when needing to charge away from home can often be overcome simply by pre-planning.
Best Wishes
