I’m now in a position to rider my next car.

has anyone heard if the Škoda Superb IV or Octavia IV PHEV models are coming in Q1?

the superb IV was on for one quarter the off.

Im looking at a PHEV with a large boot, a full BEV battery only isn’t suitable as though my normal mileage falls within the 30 miles a day, I also have a trip to and from Lancaster where my lad is at Uni 4 plus tines a year.

currently in a diesel  car it’s 5-6 hours round trip of 350 Mike’s and to add extra two hours to that us too much.

currently the only  PHEV with a moderate boot is the Kia Ceed sport wagon

      thanks in advance

We have been told to not expect any announcement on Q1 Skoda deals until end of December at the earliest.

We have as you can expect had a fair bit of interested in a PHEV which has been fed back to Motability.

I have heard rumour that Ssangyong are going to take over the importing from the current importers Colts cars.

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

my local Mitsubishi dealer has now closed and the franchise has gone to Bristol Street Motors in Banbury. This is the second move, first from Coventry to Hook Norton, now Banbury

I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed for the superb estate IV to re appear. It’s a fantastic car.

I’m also hoping for the Skoda Estate to reappear. So many of the more spacious PHEVs are no longer on the scheme (and many only appeared for a few weeks). I need to order my next car early in the New Year and in recent months we have also lost the: Ford Kuga, Citreon C5 Aircross and Peugeot 3008 Plug-ins. I would have been keen to have a close look at all of them but now no choice at all. Does anyone know who decides as to what cars come and go on the scheme? When the Peugeot 3008 Allure Plug-in was removed from the scheme in July 2020, after only being available for a few weeks, I expressed my disappointment to my local Peugeot dealer. He said that motability had removed the car from the scheme and that Peugeot were very disappointed. Could this be true?

I had a look at the Skoda Superb, we were looking for the iV model earlier this year when they came onto the scheme, unfortunately they did not have a estate model, but they allowed to view the hatchback, strangely when we told the salesman we were Motability customer he went a bit off and refused us a test drive and offer to contact us when they had a Superb Estate iV. I must admit the hatchback boot was enormous, but due to the high entrance lip would have been a problem with my scooter.

In the end the upfront cost was a decider, the Skoda Superb Estate iV attracted an AP of £3749 and as we tow a caravan we would also have to add the Skoda towing pack which factory dedicated wiring, engine cooling upgrades and factory tow bar at over £1000 (unfortunately you can use an aftermarket towing kit), so £4749 in total.

At the time the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was only £1699 plus I had a aftermarket tow bar fitted for just under £500 so £2199, we could justify the difference of £2550 especially when you consider it will never own the car. So far in just over the first six months of our lease we are probably £300 + better off compared to our previous Motability diesel ford Kuga
