Bid-rXC40 inscription T4 AWD now £2599 was £3750
Rav4 Hybrid Excel AWD now £3245 was £2745
Was going Toyota, now Volvo, driven both higher AP that was and 32mpg real world figure had put us off the XC40. But no way even with the fuel economy difference is the RAV4 a £650 higher AP car to us.

MaccaDisappointed at this. The Rav was priced well, would definitely have been in contention at Q3 pricing and would definitely have maintained my interest in a self charging hybrid, but not now.
This may be driven by Toyota, i.e. sufficient interest and orders have now built so they can take their foot off the gas to synch with production targets, and inflating the motability AP’s stems the flow somewhat.
We’re personally not in the market just yet, having extended the current lease, although that is flexible so we can change early if we wanted to.
At the minute we’re happy to sit tight, however, if we wanted to change now I would be having a close look at the Tig R Line DSG 2.0TDi over other options, because with an AP of £2199 which still looks like JCT600 can reduce to £1699, that’s an amazing deal.
Don’t get me wrong if we look at a Rav4 Excel spec. Then yes it has leather trim, a 2.5 petrol hybrid engine and can be AWD so a different beast to the Tig altogher, but at those Q4 AP’s i’m dialled out …….. for now.
All of that said, i’m wanting to see what Hyundai do with the next gen Tucson, and want to see what Nissan do with the next gen Xtrail.

72 DudesI know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to me the RAV 4 is one ugly pup, with that turned down ‘mouth’ of a grille! All awkward at the rear three quarters too.
@bid-r: Agree the XC40 has gone from a high AP to an absolute bargain. Our chosen T4 Inscription has gone from £3500 to £1999. I have a call in to the dealer to add Winter Pack (£500) and Reverse Camera (£375) and we’ll still be £626 better off!

MaccaNo, thats the Excel spec, Dynamic is above that and has black wheels and roof
October 3, 2019 at 3:49 pm #89956
SaintsManMacca, the dynamic isn’t above the excel as such, they both offer different options above design.
You get leather in the excel, the dynamic offers the wheels and roof options. I suppose it means people can choose from “executive” or “sporty”.

MaccaOkey doke bud, just saw that the Dynamic carries the highest AP, and there must be a reason for that. Good thing is there is a spec for all tastes.
