Dont be put off by that thread, Deliveries have started coming through and hopefully the wait time will start to come down to a reasonable time for when you can order. It is the ideal car for us, big boot for wheelchair and all the shopping and good height for getting in and out of and hopefully more fuel efficient than our Q3.
just remember that delivery times don’t really matter on this scheme. Motability won’t take your old car away until you are in your new one and if you have been happy in your current vehicle for 3 years, what’s a couple of months more if you know your ideal car is being built especially for you!
my advice, find a good dealer, test drive and then decide

BrianI had a look last month and was told early next year for a 4wd and June 2020 for a 2wd!

i understand what you are saying but you shouldn’t be put off by waiting if it’s what you want. As I said before you don’t have to give your car back on the last day of your 3 year agreement
The RAV4 was only released this year worldwide and the uk is only getting the hybrid version unlike a lot of other countries.
unfortunately the delays are due to the demand, a bit like we saw about a year ago with the Tiguan on this forumsadam

BrianTo be fair the Tiguan isn’t much better in Allspace form. Just been to the dealers and delivery is probably March. I did prefer the Allspace though…

PhiljbWe looked round for a cancelled order to beat the long wait times on our Tiguan.
But that worked to our advantage as that was the reason the order for our car was cancelled, we could have picked it up within a week if we wanted.
The good thing about the scheme if you already have a car of course is that you get to keep your old car till the new one arrives.
September 28, 2019 at 4:49 pm #88974Please Lexus come back the Rav 4 looks awful
September 28, 2019 at 5:11 pm #88975
PhiljbIt looks much better then the old model.
But I agree Lexus would get my vote.September 28, 2019 at 5:50 pm #88981
MaccaBeauty is very much in the eye of the beholder eh?

MaccaPersonally, and having had a look up close, the Rav gets a thumbs up from me so far, and i very much intend to test drive it, amongst other cars, when the time comes.
September 28, 2019 at 6:19 pm #88987Hi everyone, My 3year is up in about 6 months and I really like the look of the rav4. does anyone know how long it takes to order one? Thanks
I have 245 days till the end of my lease, but I am not counting, and definitely fancy the new RAV4
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

MaccaI’m particularly drawn to this Blue Flame colour on the Rav …
September 28, 2019 at 7:28 pm #88993
MaccaOr ‘Cyan Splash’ as its called in the UK.
September 28, 2019 at 8:43 pm #89004
Bid-rTest drove one today, not in Cyan blue, agree looks nice, especially with that grey interior.
Drove 33miles averaged 76.2 mpg. Â Last 1.5 miles where in sold traffic EV mode, mpg was 52 before that. Â Mix of 70mph cruising, hard accel, well you have to, normal town driving.
Overall likely to order, need to look at outlander PHEV, but RAV4 has a lot of toys as standard on excel AWD version we are looking at.
XC40 we test drove was definitely a better ride, quieter and a higher quality cabin and infotainment but Petrol T4 we test drove had averaged 28 mpg.  That coupled with higher £1000 AP no adaptive cruise, electric tail gate, reverse camera, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, rear tinted windows and I’m sure there’s more.  All options on the Volvo but at huge cost…
Considering everything above, RAV4 is so far top of the list.
September 28, 2019 at 8:55 pm #89009
MaccaYeah the Excel AWD would interest me too
September 28, 2019 at 9:46 pm #89016
Noelwent to look at it too, but it doesn’t have a passenger height adjustable seat ( on any version) so no way my misses can even get in one.
for a top spec 35,000 pound car this is beyond comprehension, same goes with the CHR, its not just the driver that needs height adjustable seats!!
September 28, 2019 at 9:52 pm #89018
PhiljbI Don’t mind the looks I just don’t like Toyota interiors, it’s a personal thing I know.
The rear seat doesn’t fold flat in the centre for long items.
plus they usually have very dated infotainment systems.
I read the Rav 4 doesn’t have Apple of android car play?
plus the Say nav is slow and the screen laggy.unforgivable for the price I think.
But you can’t deny they make fuel efficient engines. They’re just not very quick, for the amount of HP they produce.
September 28, 2019 at 10:09 pm #89022
MaccaGotta admit, the steering wheel I do not like, could be much better. I also don’t like rear lights. But i’ll see in time what i make of the whole package
September 29, 2019 at 12:04 am #89029Can’t say for definite on the RAV4 but my wife just got back from a trip to the USA where she hired (or rented lol) a brand new Corolla and she said that it used a Toyota infotainment system without android auto (can’t talk about Apple integration as you couldn’t pay either of us to have an Apple device)

MaccaSo following the video above, here is the Cyan on an Excel spec, i.e. with the correct wheels …
September 29, 2019 at 8:59 am #89063I don’t like the wheel arches
September 29, 2019 at 9:02 am #89065
MaccaIts odd isn’t it how we all perceive things differently. I think the arches make it edgey, pushing the styling if you like, but do wish they had continued them down to the bottom of the car to give full protection.
September 29, 2019 at 10:02 am #89069I thought the white one looked good on the advert must have been top of the range I thought that’s fab as my Toyota dealer is just 5 miles away but then I saw a grey one in Waitrose carpark up close it looked terrible in grey
September 29, 2019 at 11:33 am #89077
MaccaThe car can take on a very different look across its spec and colour combinations.
Ideally i’d like the next car to have a black headlining and no sunroof. The Dynamic spec has the black headliner, however it comes with a black roof and black alloys which i don’t like, and I also don’t like the blue stitching in the seats. I’ve enquired whether an Excel spec can be supplied with a black headliner but sadly its a no on that. Colour is very important to each of us, and we all like different things. For me the Rav looks good in white, silver or cyan.
