IanfcaI was wondering what people’s thoughts are on whether it is best to order this Q or wait for Q2. To be honest whatever we order this Q will be a compromise, but I am worried perhaps this is as good as it will get. Do you think the AP’s will increase in Q2 and what are the chances of more vehicles coming onto the scheme. It would be great if motability would give us some sort of indication as to what direction they are going in.

Glos Guy The 2021 X1 X-Line has full leather heated seats as standard (front) with minor electric adjustment for seat bolsters and lumbar support if chosen as an extra cost option. The Sport model has cloth trim but is equipped with sport seats as standard.
Front and rear park assist, power folding mirrors, Auto dimming rear view mirror, front and rear exterior LED lighting and wireless phone charging are all standard on X-Line. Previously X-Line only had front LED lights and rear parking. However, sliding rear seat is now a cost option.
18″ diamond cut alloys with NRF tyres are standard on X-Line but painted black on Sport Models along with some lovely black cladding along the bottom of the doors which I know you like:) 19″ alloys are an option on X-Line which are a nice addition.
Privacy Glass is an option on X-Line and Sport models and sport seats an option on X-Line.
Here is my X1. https://forum.whichmobilitycar.co.uk/forums/topic/forum-members-cars/page/6/ If you scroll half way down the page you will see my multi image post from 3 years ago
The optional extras I chose were sport seats, privacy glass, lumbar support, auto dimming rear view mirror and power fold mirors. All except sport seats and privacy glass are now standard no cost fit options.
March 24, 2021 at 9:20 pm #143458Thanks NosherN. Your car looks fantastic. If we get an X1 we would also get grey exterior with oyster interior. The facelift model comes in a new colour called Storm Bay, which is a slightly lighter grey, perhaps with a very slight blue tone to it. It’s the colour that they show in the online brochure which is usually a good sign as to what the manufacturer considers to be the best colour. I’ve emailed the sales person who I bought my 5 Series from to see if they have a demonstrator that I can drive as soon as we are allowed such indulgences!

Hi John. NosherN is referring to the current spec of the X1 in comparison to the older model that he has. However, here’s the link to the Jan 2021 price list which shows the detailed specifications.

JohnThanks for that Glos Guy, where does it say that wireless charging is now standard?
March 25, 2021 at 11:21 am #143490You need to get Technology Pack One to get wireless charging, John only £900….

JohnOh thanks Wigwam, Nosher said it was now standard on the Xline so I got confused lol
March 25, 2021 at 1:52 pm #143498For wireless charging you need to specify the Technology Pack 1, the only issue ive found with it is my phone doesnt fit, if I leave it in the phone case.
My X1 was delivered on the 1st May this year, went for Storm Grey and Oyster, the Oyster leather looks amazing, however have now bought a Dye Block to prevent Blue Dye from jeans staining it. (Stained after a few days).
March 25, 2021 at 1:58 pm #143499Hi Coxy. Car looks fantastic. If I go for an X1 that’s the colour combo I would go for. A couple of questions if you don’t mind? I presume you mean 1st March not 1st May? If so, can you confirm how long it took from order to delivery? My local dealer has told me this morning that they are advising up to 6 months! Also, is that the colour that they call Storm Bay? If so, would you say that it’s completely grey or does it have a bit of blue in it? Thanks.
March 25, 2021 at 2:12 pm #143500Hi Glos Guy, yes 1st March, I ordered mine August 2020, all in all about 7 months delivery. It is the colour Storm Bay, one of those colours that looks different dependant on the light. In my opinion it has a bit of blue in it, more noticable on a sunny day.

March 25, 2021 at 3:35 pm #143503Apologies for stating that Wireless Charging was a no cost option on the X1. I got confused with my daughters recent new car order which does have wireless charging as standard….Doh!
March 26, 2021 at 8:28 pm #143609I called Motability earlier today and asked if the BMW X1 25e PHEV was likely to join the scheme in Q2. The customer service advisors never know for sure what’s coming on, leaving or changing in AP, so it’s never entirely accurate, but the person I spoke to looked at what was likely to come onto the scheme this year and it isn’t listed ?
I asked about the Toyota Highlander, as another poster had been told that Motability was negotiating a price for it, but their info now shows that it is unlikely to be added as ‘it doesn’t meet the criteria’ which doesn’t surprise me as it’s over £50k. Seems as though that was a waste of time even discussing it as they would have known the price up front.
Finally, I asked if any new larger SUV’s might join the scheme this year. They mentioned several Jeep models, a Mazda model that I didn’t recognise and a Vauxhall Grand something or other. Sorry, I know that’s pretty rubbish partial info, but none of those makes interest me so I didn’t write them down or take much notice. Anyone particularly interested might be wise to call them and ask.
March 27, 2021 at 2:05 pm #143658Hopefully we shall see some Q2 price reveals from Monday onwards?
March 29, 2021 at 10:10 am #143775Mods – Can we please now have the usual ‘stickie’ thread for the new quarter, given that Q2 is just 3 days away and, hopefully, we will now start getting early sight of manufacturer price lists? Thanks.
