hi guys I’m new to motobility and last night I had a puncture in my front wheel so had to use the repair kit to get it home. I now have the car booked in to Kwik Fit but my question is how do I get a new repair kit and do I have to buy with my own money cheers in advance. Hugh

Had one in my Seat Leon awhile ago but never used it but I was told back then that Kwik-Fit should give you another one when you go in for the repair free of charge.

Found this on the Motability site…

In some cars, an emergency inflation kit is supplied for use with punctures. Once the canister has been used, you should contact your managing dealer to get a replacement. If you are not comfortable using the kit, you may contact the RAC or Kwik Fit who will do this for you.

Hmm, my supplying dealer didn’t give me a kit with the car when it was new (although they were supposed to) – I found out after I got home, I went back and they didn’t want to know when I asked for it later.

Thankfully I had kept the kit from my old 2008 Picasso when it went to the scrappy in the sky. Despite the gunk being many years out of date it worked without any issues when I had a puncture earlier this year.

I bought a new kit (cheaper than just the canister) from ebay for £20, I will keep it when I swap my car out.

In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
