I think the days of taxi drivers being ‘professional’ drivers and having standards above the rest of us are long gone outside of London. I know our locals are 60% not local, which means often explaining where some of the small off the main road villages are, let alone watching them struggle when some come out with the ‘proper’ Cornish pronunciation for local names.
