2023.25 is the current model with Sync3 as currently shown on the Ford UK website, the new facelift will probably be 2023.5 or 2023.75
From what I’ve been told they won’t be arriving in the UK until August onwards.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
April 12, 2023 at 5:44 pm #218847Had a surpise phone call from the Motability lady at the Ford garage.
Aplolgised for the lack of interest/help from the young lad I saw when I went to look at a Kuga about 10 days ago. I’ve arranged to get a proper look etc. on Sunday morning with her. Will let you know the outcome.

April 12, 2023 at 6:25 pm #218852Passing the Hyundia dealer so pop in and had a look at the Hyundia Tuscon hybrid lovely car but the models available on the Motability scheme confusing.
We are probably going to have a look at the Kuga ST X FHEV £2695, we have considered the PHEV but to honest the AP of £5045 financially does not make sense, one local dealer has quoted 7 month for the PHEV and at least 12 months for the FHEV, I am going to email Bristol Street motors to check availability.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.
April 12, 2023 at 7:01 pm #218853She reckons 4-6 months for the FHEV. Although Ford UK are showing stock they’re not releasing them for Motability orders. She also said the Lucid Red would be £250 extra so if I go for the Kuga I won’t be having that!. However the Vignale also includes Chrome Blue, Solar Silver, Frozen White and Agate Black as standard at no extra. My daughter likes the Chrome Blue so will have a look at that when I’m there.
The Vignale is the same price as the ST Line X but you get the leather seats and other trim bits. Hopefully I can also try the X as I do like some of the different trim it has, but if the sunroof is still a problem with the seat lowered it would have to be the Vignale.

Without a doubt the Tuscon is a nice car and of a good size. I only wished the Hybrid 230 was available when I ordered.
The only 2 Hybrid 230 are the Premium and more basic N Line trims. The PHEVs 265bhp are available in Premium and Ultimate trims but, pricey.
Below that you have 48v Mild hybrids 180bhp 4wd, which includes the the better specced N Line S and range topping Ultimate.
Below That you have the 48v Mild hybrid 150bhp SE, Premium and Ultimate specs and a 4wd ultimate.
Below them you have the ICE models in SE, Premium and Ultimate, which I have.
The ICE and MHEV’s are not great fuel economy wise.
April 12, 2023 at 7:57 pm #218856Ive opted out of the Kuga because of the CVT box, with most reviews also saying its not the best in the FHEV but better in the PHEV.
I hoping to look at the X trail again next week.
April 12, 2023 at 8:04 pm #218857I have just been looking at the Ford site retail customer for a Kuga ST X Edition FHEV £39,125 Motability AP £2695.
Ford are charging less due to demand for the Kuga ST X Edition PHEV slightly £270 less at £38,855 Motability AP £5045.
So why are Motability charging an extra £2350 for the PHEV over the FHEV model, especially when Ford are charging £270 less ?

1- Ford has agreed a price on how much there willing to except from MB, which will be a lot lower than retail price.
2- MB have chosen to keep PHEV prices higher, either hoping the scheme user will convert to electric or pay a premium and MB will become richer!
I don’t know but, you can guarantee MB will benifit more than us. The government has introduced a scheme where dealers phase down on sales of ICE and hybrids over the coming years, so more are driving EV’s by 2030. Perhaps MB is pushing this?

Good luck with the Kuga and the panoramic roof does eat into the roof height.
There are only a handful of FHEVs in the country but not for motability as you quoted, my dealer said there are more on their way apparently but whether they can let us have them is another matter and many on the way have lots of extras to bump up the AP.

When looking I asked about a Hyundai Tucson 1.6 TGDi 48V MHD SE Connect 5dr 2WD DCT £2499 AP and this was the reply from Read Hyundai.
We can certainly arrange for an appointment and test drive in the Tucson. Sadly the mild hybrid DCT is no longer available for us to order, production was halted late last year due to supply issues. (we’re still not entirely sure why this was kept on the Motability scheme list).
We can however order the Tucson Premium self-charging hybrid, this is still an automatic, and this particular model has a £3,999 advance payment. ?

Hi, I can rember you saying that before. My guess is the dealer you spoke with was mistaken or trying to move on the premium hybrid 230 in group stock. I specificaly asked the dealer I had mine from, who said they were available and tried to get me have a 4wd mild hybrid 180, as he’s aware I’m after an early termination for an auto.
Have you spoken to any other dealers from a different group?
I’m getting 27-29mpg local and 39mpg on a long run with a long term average of 32mpg out of my Ultimate ICE manual. The mild hybrid is only rated upto 2mpg extra WLTP figurers, so in real terms there won’t be alot between them. Similar figurers are quoted on the Sportage thread as they are technically the same car, and the Sportage is available on the scheme with DCT mild htbrid. There is also a GPF issue on the ICE and Mild hybrid.
If your after something economical my advice is the step up to the hybrid 230 or go for the Kuga 🙂
April 13, 2023 at 11:22 am #218937I went for the Kuga Vignale FHEV.

Nice ?
April 13, 2023 at 11:56 am #218953Did you say you’d ordered it in Lucid red? If you did were you charged extra for that colour?

April 13, 2023 at 12:08 pm #218958@Postmanpat68 Did you say you’d ordered it in Lucid red? If you did were you charged extra for that colour?
Well I ordered the Lucid Red as the dealer had one in stock but because of the Motability list confusion at the time they were saying it wasn’t available and when the order eventually went through the next day another branch had pinched the car to sell to someone else.
The dealer is still looking for a stock/on way soon in Lucid red and I was originally not charged for the red but I would go for the chrome blue also and maybe I would be persuaded to go for the ST line X if available.
