So I picked up my Nissan Ariya 87k Evolve today in Aurora Green and first impressions are excellent. The car has everything you could possibly think of or at least I can think of.
It is lovely to drive and really comfortable. Taking it for a proper ride on Saturday so I will report back on how that goes.

March 7, 2025 at 8:50 am #298973It was in the running for us, until MB removed the AWD options, which halved the towing capacity down to 750kg.
If the AWD comes back before mid-May, we will consider it – but I can’t imagine it will win out against the IONIQ 5.

Unfortunately with Nissan current problems this may not happen, we are in a similar position we tow a 1500kg caravan, the current PHEV AP very steep.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.
March 7, 2025 at 6:55 pm #299020I made a mistake when I got the Ohme Pro Charger installed. I thought that 5m of cable would be plenty but it is not. I have had to park the car quite close to the front door, much to the wife’s annoyance as that was the only way the charging cable would reach.
I messaged Ohme about it and they said I would be looking at over £300 to getthe cable changed to 8m so I was wondering if there was anyone who has had need of an extension cable for their Ohme charger so I can park the car on the drive in it’s normal spot?
Fortunately I will not have to charge it too often in the meantime.

EV cable shop unfortunately £99.
You can get a local electrician to change your tethered cable, I had mine change from a type 1 to type 2, took him less then half hour.

The extension posted is only rated to 16a and a max of 3.6kw. They don’t seem to have any of the 32a or 7.2kw in the 5m cables, they are sold out.

There was a drop down menu where you could select 16A or 32A and 10m 32A was £99 when I initially posted, I had highlighted the 32A!
March 9, 2025 at 12:57 pm #299098I don’t know if I should buy a new cable (circa £120 for 10m) and get a local sparky to change it over or to buy the extension cable (well wait for it to come back in stock first) and just use that?

My local sparky asked me to contact Ohme to see if the cable could be replaced. Naturally they said no as it would invalidate the warranty. Their price to change is £96 plus a call out charge of £198 so £294 in total.
Either that or I just continue to park the car by the front door overnight whilst it charges.
March 9, 2025 at 2:41 pm #299105The beauty of an extension cable (whils’t no the be all and end all), is it won’t invalidate the chargers warranty and will get you out of a fix relatively cheaply however, I would stick with a maximum 5m extension.

Would this be suitable please? Also thanks for your help.

Ohme have told me that trying to change the cable would invalidate the warranty.

There is no mention of ip rating, I can see which I would be dubious of, especially as an extension cable., unless you can come up with a solution of covering the connection when it rains, such as a weatherproof box?
Using amalgamating tape could be a longterm solution, if you kept both cables connected!
