I use a Nextbase dashcam.  The problem I have is that when I actually need it doesn’t appeared to have worked.  I’m fortunate enough to have not previously needed footage until now.  I had a bump at the weekend and cannot find the footage, immediately after the incident is there but the previous 45 minutes has disappeared.  Am I missing something?

      Thanks

Did you lock the footage after the bump?

Not sure if this helps explain….wont help with the missing footage.  Recently had a similar issue.  I have a 322, a 522 and a 622.  Told by installer of the latest that the dashcam saves what it think are incidents.  This limits availability for new footage over time.  You need to regularly format the card to keep space for new recordings.

I was thinking the same as @Peedyex  Depends how long you’ve had the dashcam and size of memory card in it. Any shocks it gets from slamming a door could cause that bit of footage to get saved as it thinks its been in a bump so what was a 2 hour memory card could be down to a 30 minute card until you delete those files.

Strange how immediately after the incident is there but not the previous 45 mins… is there anything there from before before that 45 minute period?

Was the camera on? Not the first time mines has been unplugged by a garage or me to plug in a tyre inflator, or just bumped and the wire has been loose and I’ve not noticed 🫣

Apart from 45 minutes, just keep resetting it , it doesn’t have an infinite memory

Do you have a protected files folder, that after the bump the footage may have been moved to that folder automatically on impact. If you can’t find it you may have to look into using data recovery software.

Also did you have your Nextbase 422GW connected to the cloud at all.

I set up the camera to continually reset and erase images.  I’ve presumed that in doing so it did just that,  overwrite and start again.  I have footage of where I was but the return journey is missing until exactly after impact.  Plenty of footage from previous journeys throughout August.  Strange one to be sure.

If you have a card reader and a pc or laptop. Use the card reader to copy the files on to the pc. The recording you want may be in the protected folder, or indeed another folder.

The Nextbase app is not the best.

Did you check on the PC in the protected folder?

I can’t remember if it copies the footage there, or actually moves it. Worth checking.

Where is the protected folder?  I’ve never seen it.
