Have just been looking at motabilitys information on replacing tyres, i can not believe this is on the motability website.

If you live on an island off the coast of the UK or Northern Ireland, you will not find a Kwik Fit centre and they cannot come to you. Please call the Kwik Fit Tyreline on 0330 123 1531 and they’ll give you advice on how to get your tyres changed.

I think their is 4 in Belfast and a lot more all over the country.

I think they mean an island that is off the coast of UK OR off the coast of NI. At the risk of being the grumpy ol’ git that I am, bad grammar and English is rife these days. An occasional glance at the ticker tape strip on any news programme quickly proves this! Lol. Geography isn’t much better!

          I’m glad it’s not just me 😂

My bug bears include the appalling pronunciation that prevails these days, most notably not sounding the letter ‘h’ at the start of a word, the letter ‘t’ in the middle of a word and the letter ‘g’ at the end of words – and that’s before we get to the “innit”s and“like”s 😂

The government should reintroduce the information films that many of us will remember (Charlie says etc) reminding people how to speak English. Whilst they are at it, they can include the fact that the letter H is pronounced ‘aitch’, NOT ‘haitch’ and that it’s “would have” not “would of”. I must go for a lay down 😂

Indeed that is what they mean, there is only one island that has inhabitants over here which is Rathlin Island. Not as if there is loads of them.
