What is the procedure for a vehicle breakdown under Motability? The car is a 2 month old Peugeot 208 GT hybrid and keeps cutting out, luckily this started at home when I was trying to take the car out of the driveway. Should I contact the RAC or arrange with the dealer to pick up the vehicle?

@cjazzman Hiya. Do you have any warning lights or faults showing up? If not  you could try RAC in the first instance. Or, you could book it into your dealership. Give the dealer service desk a call and see what they say.

On a similar subject, I was given a Kia assist card when I picked up my new Sportage, to be used in the event of a breakdown. Do you know if I should use this or the RAC card if needed?

If it keeps cutting out could be stop/start

            Try turning it off

VW do the same in giving a years breakdown cover however I’ve always been told you should use the Motability RAC breakdown service.

They of course would send your car back to the dealer to fix any warranty problems but those are the rules even if it does seem a waste of time.

I would use the RAC. It is supposed to be a dedicated service for Motability.
