Just had a read of this new payment. If you live in Scotland you will automatically be transferred by 2025. So you think that’s fine. If you do not read the guidelines you will not see the catch. You are responsible for informing any other benefit agency  in tge Uk that you ave changed to the Scottish payment. Can you imagine the chaos this will cause. If you do not live in Scotland you are lucky you do not have to put up with the bunch of lunatics who say they are better for Scotland.

At least they gave up on setting up their own Motability scamscheme. It would have been a farce,  probably run solely through Arnold Clark (Providing they have been nice cash donors to the party) and means tested eye watering AP’s set below the minimum wage because they are “socially responsible”.

Like the ferries, it would cost 5x as much, take 5 years longer and still not deliver on what was originally asked for.

In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.

Yes I totally agree, it only replaced dla/pip which is a non means tested benefit so should not effect any other benefit and will mirror the dla/pip rate and still use the same Motability system without any benefit to the claimant/customer.

As an ex civil servant, I cannot see any reason for the Scottish Social Security to not notify the other agency’s. It is just another waistfull, costly tear of Government burocracy to duplicate more costly jobs with very little benefit to the poor claimant.

…and if your also claiming one of the legacy benifits, you will likely be told to make a claim for UC, at the the point of notification. Also loosing any transitional protection, you may have had.

I expect the useless SNP are under the impression they will get more out of the UK welfare pot, than is actually needed.

            Well done Humza the Useless!

Yip. When your health minister does not no what roaming charges are when you go abroad what chance have we got. Everything should be handed back to UK government.

Imagine running down the Scottish government, while in England we have this odious government here.

kezo the change over should be treated as a stand alone benefit and is not means tested, therefore the person should not have to change over to Universal Credit, it is only means tested benefits that are counted as a change of circumstances.

I do not know what you mean by “Unless the SNP are under the impression that they will get more out of the U.K. welfare pot than is actually needed”.  I can assure you that we are well short up here, of what is actually needed from the Tory Government pot to cover our welfare state, as I am sure you also are, over the border. By the way I am certainly not an SNP supporter, my political activity lies elsewhere.
