My Enyaq:charging stopped ?

Had my Enyaq a few weeks now and love the car but there are a few niggles. I schedule charge from Ohme from 1am -8am when electric is cheaper. Says car is charged- great.

however when I look at my phone I get multiple notifications through the from My Enyaq app saying charging stopped ! Does anyone know how to fix this ?
Also electric drivers seat. It moves back when you open the door. Then when you get in close the door then foot on brake and seat moves back into position. Well 95% of the time it works. If not you need to press the 1 memory button on seat ! It’s very random in operation. I know it’s only a press of a button but it’s annoying that it does it sometimes and not others!

Do you use the cars system to charge the car?  The Skoda servers are very problematic to say the least.

I don’t get any notications from Skoda charging mine, all the MySkoda app does is show me what it thinks is the charge and range when I open it, it’s not usually the same as the car says!.

As you have an Ohme charger use their app instead.  Better still, if you have Octopus, there’s an excellent guide to setting it up correctly here,

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

          Hi Dee

do you know if your Ohme charger has the latest firmware/software updates on it or can you tell me the version please. Ohme and Enyak didn’t get on a couple or so years back.

Charge rate limited. In the Ohme app menu you will can check if its set up correctly to 32A  and match the cut-out fuse rating for the CT clamp (80 or 100A) happy to ook at any pic’s you put up.

Only use one app to schedule charging and ensure it is set up right, along with checking it on the Ohme cloud.

Unlikely to be PEN fault detection which stops the charger power.

If the problem persists, you can cancel Ohme’s schedule and schedue charging from the car instead which will be shown in the Enyak manual. However check the Enyak is compatible with your energy provders cheap tariff. If its just a blanket 1 to 8am tariff, which I believe your on in NI, you wouldn’t have an issue.

@Phaedra may beable to offer more advice ontop especially with the drivers seat.

Ignore that – he is already on site ?

Sorry, being very tall my seat is permanently set at the fully back position.

              @Kezo

Yes, I’m about for bit, trying to work out a night to charge mine before the end of next week, I have a 35 mile trip tonight and another 20 tomorrow, shopping with my Autistic son Tuesday so another 50 there!.  I need it charged up for the start of the following week as lots of running about with the funeral/wake to do and  the airport trips and dropping off my daughter will be around 80 miles all in.

Unfortunately we’re due for rain almost every night, I know the cable and car/charger are IP54 but being old and cautious I woud prefer IP65 for heavy rain!.  I did buy a cover for the cable/charge port from Amazon for £10 that seems like it will work 🙂

I always apply a thin bead of “neat” silicone around charger installs to help prevent moisture getting on the PCB from behind, so you could always do that if not already done with the cover. The board on Ohme chargers is technically bare, whereas on Easee chargers they are far more substantially enclosed inside and one of my go to chargers.

I’m still looking at moving the charger further over and housing it in a cabinet due to the cable not locking in place.  I’ll seal around the back of the cabinet and add some drain holes in it just in case!.

Many years ago when I used to make fishing bite indicators for Daiwa and model boat speed controllers I used a PCB dip, looked like petrol, this meant the boards would work under water but were perfectly serviceable for repairs etc. unlike encapsulating them in epoxy etc.  Unfortunately I no longer have any 🙁

Thanks for the replies. I’m using the Ohme charger version 1.22. I haven’t touched anything in the car to schedule a charge as I can’t find anywhere to do it ! Maybe there’s one set that I need to delete? All I have is a screen with a 80% limit on it. Does the charging cable need to be plugged in to bring up a charging schedule in the car?

one thing that is confusing in the car is the screen says ‘charging’ when obviously it’s not as I’m driving down the road !!!

sorry for such stupid questions but I’m usually pretty good with tech but this has me stumped.

@Phaedra has the Enyak so probably best suited to answer 🙂

The 80% limit means it will charge the battery to 80% which is fine if you don’t go on long journeys.

The charging notification may be the regen from the brakes though I can’t remember seeing anything coming up on mine.

If you go into car menu on the top right corner of the screen you’ll see an icon for charging,

I’m just about to go out but will be back in a few hours.

Have you tried a straight charge from tge ohme without timing set? If that works, ir might fe an issue between any timed settings in tge app and the car

<p style=”text-align: left;”>@southamman that’s what I’m going to try next to see if I can get rid of the charging indicator in the car. @Phaedra it’s not the regen. It’s what comes up when the car is charging but as it does it through the night I haven’t seen it yet so I’m going to try a small charge through the day. Below is the message on the car when it is not charging as it’s not plugged in !! </p>

other possibilty might be if you have a special low charging rate and app is ticked to use that rate

Yes, mine’s the same, stupid software!

While you’re here, do you use a USB stick for music?, I’ve tried several in mine and every one does the same thing.  When you get in the car it plays the same song every time, it doesn’t remember where it was when you last used it unlike every other car I’ve had.

Thanks. At least I’m not going crazing! Wonder why it says charging all the time? Software does seem to be a bit glitchy. my Peugeot 2008 had many electrical gremlins and none would happen when at the dealership. Just had to turn it off and on again and then everything worked again !!

sorry I don’t use a usb stick for music. If I get the chance I’ll put some songs on one and let you know what happens.

last night charged car from the in car schedule after I finally found it! You have to set a location first then a schedule. Anyway car charged last night with no ‘charge stopped’ notifications so everything is working as it should so it must just be a bug between Ohme and Škoda when using the Ohme app to charge.

no big deal as the car does charge even with the messages just annoying. Maybe it will be resolved with a new version?!

It’ll most likely be not having a location set that was the problem.

I always use the Ohme app to charge and have never had those messages.  Did a charge to 100% last night and added about 150 miles for £3.27  🙂

                                                re: usb music,
I recently had somewhat similar issues with a 2 month old hire car where the radio station had to be re-tuned every day,

I stumbled on my fix by accident,

Who would have thought that recording the driver seat position into memory, had the unknown effect of also storing the input I had made to the radio’s preference’s ie: my preferred radio station & favourites.

No more issues with the radio or my wireless Android Auto after I set the seat into memory.
only a small step sideways for a usb drive to follow the same approach.

Having door mirrors tied to seat memory is common, but also the infotainment system! that was definitely a surprise.

Unlike previous Skoda/VAG cars the Enyaq preferences aren’t stored in the key fobs, they’re held by the cars internal system.
