If you are planning to visit a dealer to place an order, please phone and check the status as you may have a wasted journey.

July 18, 2018 at 12:48 pm #56602Thanks for the heads up, Trev.
Had the Focus in for its MOT yesterday…
July 18, 2018 at 1:14 pm #56606Let’s hope it’s because they are updating the Car Search!
I know I know dream on!
July 18, 2018 at 1:57 pm #56611Now there’s a thing, two weeks ago today I ordered a car through Motability and I was expecting the paperwork from Motability to land on the mat sometime last week but nothing arrived.
Roll on to today with it being two weeks since signing the order form I rang Motability and they said that the DWP have blocked my order and won’t let my order go through but I said to them how come the online order checker is showing the order has been approved , no answer.
So no choice I’ve had to ring the DWP and no one wants to ring them unless it’s a last resort but I have no choice.
After 10 minutes waiting in line some guy tells me if I got the letter from DWP as proof of Enhanced PIP then that’s all you need but he said he would put me through to a DWP department that deals directly with Motability. The next man says the same as the first guy in that if I have the award letter and they have a copy nothing more to be said but he put me on hold while he talked directly with Motability and after another few minutes comes back and tells they had a glitch Motability end and it was now fixed.
I ring back Motability and they said the problem had been fixed and the order was going through to the dealer within the next 10 minutes.
Two thing here, has the glitch only been discovered today but going on longer so I’ve been unlucky my order been in cold storage for two weeks and two, why send me on a wild Goose chase with the DWP.

Hi Guys
Some of Motability systems still down today (Thursday 19th July). Spoke to the Grants dept today, and because of a system upgrade, some systems are down and will not be available until 9.00am Monday 23rd July.
Grant dept told me that they would not accept applications if the only reason to obtain the relevant vehicle was to have heated seats, these are extras that you the customer would have to pay for. As my wife is unable to drive the Octavia that we have at present, but found the Karoq to be very comfortable, and with no pain in her joints, she enjoyed her drive in it. The guy I spoke to today asked some other questions about us and our income, and then told us that we are able to apply for a grant towards the AP for our next vehicle. As their systems were down due to upgrade, we have to wait for hard copy of application form to arrive and fill in and then return in pre-paid envelope.
I have a suspicion that we will be knocked down to the SE version at £495.00 rather than the SEL at £795.00. If that is the case can you add the difference between the grant approved and the trim that you would like, i.e from SE to SEL. Maybe I could borrow the difference from family members if that’s the case.

Not sure about trim upgrade. When we got our grant I used the pro rata refund on the s max we put back, to get tinted windows, but that was obviously an optional extra.
July 19, 2018 at 4:08 pm #56692From what i’ve read on other peoples applications LB is that you can only ‘top-up’ your grant by 50%.
My advice is to proceed with the application, see what the outcome is, and go from there.
On your application make it clear the medical reasoning for things like heated seats, keep it factual, but lay it on thick.
Fingers crossed they will approve you for the SEL
