The car is 3 years old in April, we are usually contacted around January for an MOT but we’ve not heard anything this year. Anyone else not been contacted.

Thinking of getting Kwick Fit to do it, will I need to authorise this with Motability first or just book with KF.

My understanding is, you have to arrange at your register dealership.  Just give them a ring and book it in.  My lease is up 31st March and had the MOT done the end of January after checking my online account.

I didn’t hear anything from the dealer with my last scheme car, phoned Motability and said wanted to take it to KrapFit as the dealer wasn’t interested. Motability were fine with the idea.

I’ve booked it in with KF, dealer couldn’t collect and wanted us to drop off and leave all day. Just hoping they don’t fail it on the push to start button which is cracked. We reported this to Skoda months ago but they say the part is on back order.

Just contacted my dealer and arranged it with them at a time that suited me, I don’t know for sure but I think Motability like it done via the main dealer as I’ve heard about others not being allowed to use wee local places… ?‍♂️

My lease expires on the 21st (3 days time). I had the MOT done in mid January after being contacted by my local dealership and checking with Motability.

My dealer did mine with full service third year and gave me courtesy car for 24 hours

You can get adhesive covers for start buttons, though I doubt a cracked button will fail an MOT. Even if KFquestion it you just say ones on forever backorder with Skoda.

You can get the car MOT,d 3 months before the due date. No need to leave it at the last minute.

Cant see a cracked button failing an MOT either, unless it throws a light on the dash. The dealership would be negligent allowing an unsafe car on the road.
