Only two trim levels in the CX-5 at present, SE-L and Sport Nav, and no real need to go off to an options list, which is arguably better for a Motability customer. Even the SE-L is generously appointed but I sat in a Sport Nav on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by the feel and finish. Leather, Bose stereo, sunroof (in one version with a particular engine only). Either spec worth considering in my view – you probably have all you need in the SE-L at a guess. No Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, if that matters to you.

Been a while since I was in the GLA. Very nice inside, but perhaps showing it’s age a tad? In Q2 there are 2 prices for each spec level, but closer  inspection reveals the one that is generally about £150 more has the Executive Pack fitted (which I think adds Garmin Sat Nav and heated seats). The pack is normally around £900 so that is good value. The other packs with goodies you might want are not subsidised in this way so you might find yourself paying even more to get things you want. You would be best sitting with brochures to work out what you get and need.

The reviews I have seen online would probably point to the CX-5 out of the 2, but the Mercedes badge has a certain appeal that might help you see past its issues.

Thanks for that Mark. Badge isn’t a factor for me. I didn’t know what you got for the AP like what has better choice. But as you say I think the Mazda wins it

I have GLA ( 200d Sport 5dr, auto) coming , the AP was £1899 ( includes Executive Pack fitted)

Managed to get the dealer to pay £500 of the AP , free mats , free tank of diesel , and a merc pen 🙂

Mercedes seem to be quite expensive in AP at the moment. You get a decent if not outstanding spec but the sel nav CX-5 as Mark said is very well equipped (led headlights,  rain sensing wipers, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, dual zone climate control 7″ sat nav/infotainment,  steering wheel controls) as well ands being larger size wise.

Sport nav adds: leather upholstery,  heated seats, sunroof, electric seats ands power tailgate, heads up display ands more still.  Super high spec (especially in 2wd)

If you think the CX-5 may be too big the CX-3 comes in the same trim levels and nd you can get andsnd CX-3 auto for £0 AP (1.5 petrol)
