Morning, not sure if anyone has any info on pain relief through medial cannabis subscription scheme.
Its stated on Gov.UK seems it’s seems above board for chronic pain suffers and the benefit for on going suffering of chronic pain..
please note this is not for me, but I said I’d ask here for a close friend of mine who is in full receipt of disability ..

My thanks to @ajn and @stav50 for starting this thread and the advice/info in here. I was advised ages ago that cannabis is a treatment for one of my conditions but, as we’ve seen, despite the “legalisation”, getting it on NHS is just impossible. I tried. Failed.
Was desperate so tried growing my own. This worked fine on primary symptoms, giving instant relief, unlike various NHS approved medicines. However, the whole process of vaping and the so-called “highs” were repulsive. Like @Ioniq I was unable to walk and dangerously confused. Obviously affects me differently to others – a most unenjoyable experience and to be avoided
Wanted to try something from a proper medical source but, at the time, only way to do this was through attending private clinics in central London. It is impossible for me to make that journey. So, very encouraged that Medbud and similar are working now. Will look into it via links here.
The condition is Willis Ekbom syndrome. aka the absurdly and inaccurately called Restless Leg Syndrome. That name makes people think you get an occasional itch in leg. In reality, it affects the entire nervous system and body and is a life-changing and sometimes life-destroying condition.

I’ve put this link in a different post in case WMC doesn’t want any links .
So it can delete if needed.

December 4, 2024 at 3:34 pm #294537Tharg I just want to point out it’s nearly all done by telemedicine and delivered by your postie ,you don’t even after leave the house .
There’s edibles, oils ,vape pens and flower and soon rosin ,quite remarkable really and we currently have a petition for grow your own for medical patient’s that’s progressing nicely .
I’ll keep poppin in and out ,but I am busy some days and am on the forum pretty much 7 days a week .
Also the CEO/Founder of medbud is on too pretty often with brilliant advice ,he’s razor sharp on matters.

December 4, 2024 at 4:05 pm #294542I’ve got a friend with a medical condition that causes extreme muscle stiffness, he takes Baclofen but it barely works. He wanted to try Sativa but his Neurologist doesn’t prescribe it so he asked his rehabilitation doctor but he also doesn’t prescribe it. I doubt he could afford to pay for it privately. It’s a shame more NHS specialists aren’t supportive of it.
December 4, 2024 at 4:15 pm #294543So far what’s come back is the doctor/surgery isn’t listed on the ODS system, so apparently there’s a form to fill out at the surgery on request..
Then was explained a 28 day wait for the information.
This information will then allow access for signing up to the medical cannabis sites available.
December 4, 2024 at 4:48 pm #294546The clinic I’ve already mentioned works out £50/year or equal to £1/week for access then in this instance they feel they require Sativa strains say £60 for 10 grams is what I get of Sativa (High silver )
Depending how much they use it’s not too expensive and actually in this instance cheaper than the streets.
Costs have reduced massively ,even in the last year we’ve had flower products going for as little as £4/gram

December 4, 2024 at 4:55 pm #294547On a personal note the releaf advert at the top of the page ,we have many patients who sign up with them then come looking to change soon after because of costs and choice ,I wouldn’t recommend a friend going there although the actual service is pretty good and prompt by all accounts.

December 4, 2024 at 5:42 pm #294548Stav50 Thanks for you patience I’m the middle man here, right the releaf site is already proving difficult, so now the interest is deffo with what you’ve mentioned, firstly they couldn’t submit the form, but now apparently it’s been submitted to your your advised site.
December 4, 2024 at 5:50 pm #294549Hello @Tharg no thanks needed, but glad the post could be of use to you, or at least point you in the right direction if or when needed.🌻
December 4, 2024 at 6:21 pm #294550@stav50, Does the Sativa make you sweat? I tried CBD oil from Holland & Barrett but I gave up in the end due to excessive sweating, I was soaking in the summer.
December 4, 2024 at 7:09 pm #294554The Sativa hybrid I use lets me get from morning to mid afternoon keeping anxiety in check whilst not getting high so to speak so I can go about my caring duties .
different oils have differing effects some will liven you up and may result in sweating but maybe you had too strong a dose? as you have to build up tolerance from 0 as my wife is gradually doing now with
THC10CBD10 oil with mint some will say this mild but eventually she go on a stronger one
with cbd oil on its own i’d be agitated and maybe sweaty.
Never sweated from cannabis flower unless being over the top with it.
As I say I’m in the community forum at medbud.wiki most the time feel free.

December 5, 2024 at 10:31 am #294576Summary of care will need apply for if living Wale, Ireland or Scotland it seems..
Meaning applying to the doctor/surgery with ID needed.
December 5, 2024 at 10:54 am #294578Didn’t realise where you were .
That’s a downer but not an impossible task .
This is the only clinic I’m sure ,that offers this at present .
I literally phoned my GP surgery and they emailed it to me ,which I then uploaded.
No id needed for me ,but you never know.

December 5, 2024 at 11:06 am #294580Well the process for them is to fill out a SAR = subject access request (I think) which can take 28 days to process before the release of the information of the subject of care form that’s needed to apply…
December 5, 2024 at 11:09 am #294582See Stav50 it’s great when people can help out eachother, it’s all a learning process for us all..😆👍
December 5, 2024 at 3:58 pm #294594Yes i would suggest if anyone needs guiding onto MC I’m just 1 person , but the forum has people who now between them most things MC and the intricacies around situation’s like ajn mentions above .

December 12, 2024 at 2:02 pm #294892Quick update..They applied to the Doctor surgery for the summary of care letter, took 5 days rather than the 28 day as expected.
