@ajn Getting a prescrition for medical cannabis is difficult via the NHS, if not near impossible. In fact, few than 5 patients have been given it! So your only real option is to go the private route. This is for whole plant cannabis including the active ingredient THC, that gets you high.
” In November 2018, medical cannabis was first legalised in the UK. However, this is on the condition that it is prescribed by a specialist doctor – not your regular GP. Today, around 20,000 non NHS patients have a medical cannabis prescription.”
Currently, cannabis is not widely available for medical purposes on the NHS, and patients typically have more luck receiving a prescription through private clinics such as Releaf.

The person I mentioned makes a butter from this stuff to ease pain relief, then the butter is used in certain food recipes/spreads as edibles..
However they would like to go down the route of this medical delivery/subscription type service rather than the current method.
Anything that could be deemed unacceptable please feel free to amend or delete..
Thanks again
December 1, 2024 at 11:38 am #294323Oh forgot to mention, as they showed an interest of the product, they were contacted with a reduced sign up fee, resulting in the equivalent of a free month saving, also there’s a 2 month cancelation choice not satisfied..
Money back guarantee if not accepted after applying.
I’ll post any updates as I hear them if anyone has an interest..
December 1, 2024 at 12:46 pm #294331It’s important to remember it stays in your system for some time. You can still be prosecuted for drug driving even if you have it legally on prescription.

December 1, 2024 at 12:55 pm #294332Thanks jojoe, however days of driving are over for this person but yes great advice to others here..
December 1, 2024 at 6:00 pm #294354@ajn Yes please keep me/us updated as it maybe helpful for others. I used to use cannabis for pain. However I no longer use it due to worsening COPD. I know there are other options available, but I want to drive so not worth the risk, To myself, and more over, other road users.

December 2, 2024 at 1:07 am #294380Don’t bother trying on the NHS it won’t happen but there are LOADS of private clinics that do monthyl fixed fees that cover their costs you just need to pay for the cannabis. I think Mamedica and Curaleaf are 2 that do a monthly sub to cover appointments and prescription costs and you just order your weed from their list and pay with lots of different prices depending on strain and how it’s presented.
It will be essentially vapourised not smoked in a medical grade vaporiser.
I’m going to sign up in the New Year once all this Universal Credit BS is dealt with
December 2, 2024 at 4:53 am #294381Thanks for the info rich44, I’ll pass it on, would you know if the vaporising has to be adhered too, can in be prepared and used as oil or butter, to be used as edible type use rather than inhaling..
December 2, 2024 at 9:43 am #294389Or try the real stuff for pain relief, I did….oh boy.
I dont know which strain they have developed, but jeez its like dropping an acid tab from the 80,s!
Sat on the stool in the garage, after a few puffs, I thought nothings happening. Until I got off the stool, an ma knees were rubber.
I managed to make it to the back door of the house, get in and close the door.
I was on my hands an knees from there on, and the swimming head
I managed to crawl up to the bedroom and slept for 5 hours.
As for pain relief, it didnt really work, but for sending me to outer space, its very effective.
Needless to say its too much, but you got to try.
December 2, 2024 at 10:20 am #294396Ionic I think the person wants to clean up the stigma of using it.
Believe me they’re no stranger to it, and have turned back to it for the pain relief rather than well as you mentioned…
Obviously there’s always a hidden tent etc
December 3, 2024 at 9:13 pm #294483slight update…

Yes just want to let members know there is no taboo or anything .this is a vital medication for some,
Clinics range from £50/year at CB1 medical and even free for service members and my wife has recently signed up here and is receiving great service already .
We recently had a prospective patient who within a day had been accepted and prescribed and a few days later is receiving his first prescription .
A massive part for some is the legality arriving driving ,which as long as you are not impaired is fine as long as you take your meds as instructed by the clinician we have video’s on this .
I’m in the forum their all day helping folks get on to MC feel free to take a look and I’ll keep popping back in here , as I love the place
My name in the medbud forum is GrownHealth.
I’ll put in here any info people ask for.
There are no restrictions on joining if anyone wants to ask a question their.
Were chilled out .

As I say ask here then members can share the answers
Also if your ready to to take action just pop in https://forums.medbud.wiki/I’m pretty much always about in there and the members are super helpful too.

December 4, 2024 at 11:06 am #294520👍 I’ve screen shot the info, sent it by text Stavo, his eyes aren’t to good so will be popping by sometime this week, also his Daughter will be helping him through the process.. Great result
December 4, 2024 at 12:18 pm #294524There are currently over 100 strains available ,each with it’s own properties ,some you wouldn’t notice you had took apart from the relief but selecting the right strains is a essential part of getting the right relief .
I’ve tried a lot of them and have a great understanding after self medicating for over 30 years .
Usually patients will use more than one strain over the course of the day with differing strength’s terpene profiles and even different cannabinoids like THC and CBD to great effect.
Medical Cannabis patients have a legal defence with driving also if not impaired and meds took in accordance with prescription.

December 4, 2024 at 2:15 pm #294522https://medbud.wiki/guides/patients-joining/eligibility-conditions/
These links are the basics and the list of qualifying conditions is more extensive than the list you’ll see.
I’m prescribed for anxiety/mood
My wife’s prescribed the pain caused by RA .
As I say feel free to ask any advice or if you have questions about what you read on clinics etc.
Some clinics may appear expensive but negate the costs in discounted medicines .

December 4, 2024 at 2:15 pm #294527@Stav50 would you know if a summary of care record from the surgery/doctor would be needed, also what to do if the surgery isn’t listed on the ODS system, if that makes any sense to you..
Thanks

December 4, 2024 at 3:19 pm #294531The one clinic that does not require this is CB1 medical and they retrieve it themselves direct from the nhs removing this problem that some patient’s face .
Example is my wife applied online with cb1 ,they contacted us next day and asked permission to access Summary Care Record and that was it done ,then appointment 2 weeks later and prescribed, appointments often take less time to wait for them then 2 weeks also.
I must say the medical consultants will blow you away ,put people right at ease.
P.S. CB1medical is by far the cheapest and we are currently sending people that way all the time.
