Issues with garage!

Having waited 11 months for my MG ZS, I got a call on 8th June to say I could collect my car on 12th.  However, then got a call on 10th to say that the rear screen had been smashed by the delivery guy and it would take an extra 2-3 days.  I waited. Called on 15th for update (they never call me!) to be told the glass was only ordered on 14th and they didn’t know how long it would take.  I asked them to keep me updated.  Here we are a week later, no update and still no car ? so, my question is, is there anyone I can complain to? The whole process has been a nightmare.  The first garage I ordered from quoted 6 month wait – definitely before Christmas 2022, they subsequently went bust and I spent weeks trying to get my deposit back.  I was transferred to the current garage and get no updates and platitudes and empty promises when I call them. Is this normal?! Sorry for lengthy post, I’m just beyond frustrated!

        Hi Suzy

With these types of problems the best bet is to phone Motability and while on the phone to them ask them to ring the garage to see what the problem is and when will it be sorted.

Garages and dealers do pull the wool over our eyes but are a bit more honest with the pay master. That said, I know dealers are full of misleading tales of the unexpected theses days but damage to the car during delivery and the fact that spare parts are an issue with deliveries the dealer might be just telling you truth to the best of their knowledge so a Motability phone call is the best way to get a straight answer.

          Chgris offers sound advice.

Motability arethe paying customer and calling them and explaining the situation will get a better result than a random customer.

All dealers in no matter what field will fob off customers, an only a sigmificant complaint, will they do anything.

Leave it up to motability and dont stress yourself over something that is out of your control.
