hi first time poster, i was wondering if somebody could clarify something for me, if i extend the lease of my motability car after 3 years, could i still ask for a purchase price to buy the car outright?, i was told that i could ask for a purchase price sometime during the last 3 months of the first lease, but not sure about the extended lease?

In order to extend the lease to 5 years the vehicle has to have substantial modifications or have less than 20,000 miles otherwise they only allow a 6 month extension.
Having said that there are folks on here who have not met that criteria and after speaking to Mota have been able to secure a 2 year extension based on their specific circumstances but it’s by no means guaranteed!
As for getting a purchase price, that will not be happening as Motability have changed their policy and no longer allow scheme members to purchase their vehicle at any point.

Relatively recent but done very silently and applied to all leases whether they be live or the customer not yet collected. Its rubbish and I hope it changes as I am enjoying my new car and would definitely consider purchasing after the lease.
