Something that has puzzled me for awhile and just wonder what anyone knows about it.

On the Motability car search web page it asked if you are in receipt of DLA, PIP or AFIP and for the latter if you have AFIP to select PIP, but why does it make a distinction between DLA and PIP as the AP’s are the same ?

The only reason I can think of is it brings their attention to the fact your allowance may soon be ending if your still on DLA but then the same thing applies to short term PIP awards.

Probably something simple as those on DLA don’t know what PIP is and vice versa. So they keep them separate to aviod confusion.

I have a theory that DLA remains separate as whilst us adults have / will have PIP, under 16’s can only apply for DLA and not PIP – thus once all adults are on PIP rates between the 2 in the future may vary.
