Is it okay to charge the Enyaq too 100% using the home charger? I thought it’s only rapids that can damage the battery over time due to the high speed of charge.

Yes it’s fine.
October 6, 2024 at 11:26 am #290288The Owners Manual states the following:-
Recommended charging instructions
NOTICE
Failure to follow these recommendations will result in increased ageing and wear of the high-voltage battery.
The high-voltage battery is subject to natural ageing and wear during use. Proper handling helps to maintain capacity and life over the long term. It is therefore recommended to observe the following instructions:Use the Battery Care Mode function Charging set-up.
Only charge the high-voltage battery to 100 % before a long journey. To do this, use delayed charging (charging for the time of departure) Charging set-up. Once fully charged, drive off as soon as possible.
Avoid leaving the vehicle idle for long periods of time when the high-voltage battery has a high level of charge.
If the vehicle will be parked for a long period of time, leave the high-voltage battery charged from 40 % up to 70 %.
Avoid completely discharging the high-voltage battery, e.g. due to long periods of leaving the vehicle idle with a low state of charge. Set the lower battery charge limit to at least 20 %.
Charge the high-voltage battery mainly with alternating current (AC).When fast charging with direct current (DC), the charging power is very high. Frequent fast charging (DC) can permanently reduce the capacity of a high-voltage battery.
If possible, avoid leaving the vehicle in high outside temperatures for long periods, especially in direct sunlight.
If the charge level of the high-voltage battery is low after the ride, we recommend starting charging immediately after the ride.
During charging, functions that reduce the charging rate, such as air conditioning or seat heating, may be unavailable or limited.October 6, 2024 at 12:01 pm #290292I think I’ll charge it to around 95%.

Charge up to 80% for everyday use, 100% prior to long journeys, as Mobility cars are only 3 year lease’s battery life is not going to affect you.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.
October 6, 2024 at 1:13 pm #290299The Enyak 85 (non X models) use’s CATL’s LFP battery cells, as such LFP batteries are able to tolerate repeated rapid charging better than lithium-ion NMC, and are less sensitive to being fully charged and discharged daily. Its Also worth noting Tesla recommends charging to 100% all the time, which uses the same CATL LFP cells.
The 85X uses NMC cells from LG Chem and are more prone to degradation especially with frequent fast DC charging to 100%
Its also important with the Enyak and any other EV, is the buffer zone between what is the gross and net battery capacity and that you will never be able to charge to 100% of the true capacity, means the battery will never be charged to dangerous or detromental limits. At the same time AC charging, especially home charging will help in the conditioning of the battery compared to fast DC charging.
October 6, 2024 at 4:14 pm #290306Now the weather is changing I’ve started charging to 100%. By the time Winter is here my 85x at 100% charge will probably show a range of 220-230 miles with a real range of 180-190, I don’t want to reduce that any further, dropping to 80% would mean charging twice a week instead of once.
I don’t do well in cold weather and bending right down to feed the cable into my KerboCharge gully can get painful very quickly as can being out in the cold, (Raynaud’s, arthritis etc etc).
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
October 6, 2024 at 4:41 pm #290308I’ve charged it to 87, only because that’s as far as I could get before 4pm when British Gas Peak Save Sunday ended.
@Phaedra Did you get the gully fixed for your Kerbo?October 6, 2024 at 4:52 pm #290310@Jojoe No, I had a reply saying it had been passed to the council operations team 19th August, nothing since.
I’m away in sunny Norway until the end of next week and will chase them up when I get back. Still can’t understand why they stuck it in with concrete when it’s in a tarmacked path, surely tarmac would have stuck better!
