I’m sorry to appear insensitive, and I’m sorry to hear about your difficulties, but Motability lose money through early terminations and the cost of that is carried by the rest of us through APs.
Of course peoples circumstances can and do change, but someone who has requested four early terminations could be argued to not be doing their research properly before ordering, and I could understand Motability refusing yet another new order.

May 31, 2024 at 4:53 pm #278747Yeah the lack of a powered boot on the megane is ridiculous really as the little square button gets covered in grime and it’s such a poor design from them as you have to grab the boot itself after pressing the little button and pull it up! It annoyed me and I am just the carer/ driver! Also we gave back our Megane ashtray only 5 months due to EV life really not suiting us and motability were very understanding. I didn’t think the megane was a hero good motability car anyway as it’s so low and not very practical but we loved car when in it. Motability must understand that customers requirements change constantly abs with their huge amount of money in the bank I think they could, and should accept your reasoning. I hope they do.

However, should you be allowed another spin of the wheel, You really must do your research on a potential 5 car.
Motability are no onebody’s fool. Upto know motability have been very generous with you. So don’t be surprised if they say No. But please do let us know what they do say. Good luck.

Sorry but I think your kicking the “Arsenal” out of it… so this’ll be your 4th termination in 8 years (3 in 7 & you’ve had this a year?)
I know circumstances change, I had to hand back early once myself (1991) but you’re going OTT.
Maybe you should consider buying a cheap car privately until your health condition stabilises.
May 31, 2024 at 7:58 pm #278763I have to agree with what others have said sorry!
However, if you are allowed another vehicle, look for a vehicle that can adapt with you, as your condition changes.
May 31, 2024 at 10:49 pm #278765It doesnt look good with your cancellation history, but there is another avenue.
Ask Motability for advice, tell them the problems you are having and ask if they can get some aids fitted to your car. They can fit a strap to the bootlid that makes closing easier, and sure a carpenter could make a box that would raise the bootfloor level with the boot opening.
Better advice from other members on the aids for getting in and out of the car could also help you.
June 1, 2024 at 9:44 am #278787Hi have you looked into getting a grant for existing car as I got one a few years ago for a boot hoist and I am sure there maybe a boot opener than can be fitted to your car just ask grants team they do also have electric seats than can get you in and out if you try this and you cannot then grants team will tell you to terminate the car.
June 1, 2024 at 9:55 am #278788Do not worry about requesting an early termination, even for the hundredth time, if your situation has changed, Motability will ensure you are in a vehicle that will keep you moving. They understand. The fact that it is being sent to a manger is a good thing, they will be in position to help with the next vehicle. Good luck.
June 1, 2024 at 2:03 pm #278808Hi thanks for your reply i havent done any early termations for 2 years as i just struggled on this car is lovely but my condition has worsented i have had this car over a year but its really hard now

This is exactly what I expect to happen. These posters above are unbelievable!! How can they have no compassion and be so ignorant to others people’s disabilities!! Good luck @coralie
