Hi all, just collected a MY25 HEV GTS. Cannot get Android Auto to work. Have tried a combination of different phones and 4 different cables. The same phone and cables worked in a previous car (Seat). Tried emptying cache and storage, restarting etc. Anyone had similar problems or know of a fix?
Thanks

No, I don’t have an MG. but, have you tried resetting your phone yet?
August 5, 2024 at 9:29 am #286264I would expect that within the cars infotainment settings, there should be a toggle to turn AA on or off.
Twin ports might have only the 1 used for full compatibility.
So long as the vehicle supports AA or Car play that is.
Cables are usually the prime suspect, as not all c type cables are equal, but as you have already tried several, you should have had luck with at least 1 of them.

Failing that open settings > manage apps on your phone, tap the 3 dots and show system apps or it might say show all apps, then find android auto from the list and tap on it. At the bottom of the screen there should be an option for clear data, if not you might need to open the storage button on that page then tap clear data.
This will reset android auto to default to start again without losing anything else.
If that doesn’t work try factory reseting the head unit.
I have found a very rare situation where my phone a Xiaomi 12 pro wouldn’t work in a Peugeot but Samsung and Google phones did so compatibility is still an issue. If not go ask the dealer for help it could be a fault too

August 5, 2024 at 11:16 am #286270Not had that issue or that car but have you checked you’re using the correct port in the car, can you try your phone in another car, does it need to be activated from inside the cars settings cause sounds like a car problem 🤔
August 5, 2024 at 11:37 am #286271I would delete the phone from the car and delete the car from the phone and start again!
1 – connect phone to cars Bluetooth and download contacts etc
2 – connect USB data cable to your phone and plug into USB port A (the left port from memory). You will be promted by a beep asking if you want to use the port as a charging port or data port. (if you don’t get a prompt try the other port)
3 select the data port option on your phone
4 You should now beable to use AA and mirror your phone etc.
MY25 Sportage should be compatible with wireless AA & CP from the factory. An update became available towards the end of 2023, that enabled existing users to load the latest software but, it is a slow and tedius process, if it isn’t already loaded on MY25 models.
1 – go to [Settings] > [Phone connections] and press the [Add new] button to connect your smartphone. Wireless connection is possible only when both the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions of the smartphone are turned On.
2 – when starting the vehicle, the previously connected device is automatically connected. To use it, press [Android Auto] in the [Home] menu.
3 – If you have previously used AA or CP using a USB data cable, you need to delete the registered phone and from the vehicle and then register again.
August 5, 2024 at 7:29 pm #286289Thanks all for help and suggestions. I’m reasonably tech savvy and tried everything I could think off. Was a dealer fix in the end which they put down to infotainment system update as part of PDI not fully loading and phone projection being corrupted. How true I don’t know but now working so all good.
