I’ve only gone and done it.
Thanks to George and Black Friday I’m the proud owner of a £45 air fryer.
9 litre capacity, independent cooking zones with removable divider. 5 star reviews.
Exciting times. All cooking and recipe tips welcome.

November 26, 2024 at 5:47 pm #294073Use it for everything.
I never use the oven since getting one.
I guess only use the oven one day a year and thats Christmas.
November 26, 2024 at 5:49 pm #294074Baked potatoes 🥔 are perfect in the air fryer. Wash and dry them, prick with a fork rub oil into them with salt and pepper. About 50 minutes on 200c. I’ve found homemade chips are best if you cut them very thick, par boil for 3 mins, dry them, oil them, pre heat for 3 mins to 200c and cook for 20 mins ish, very similar for roast potatoes except I shake the pan hard after par boiling for 5 mins to roughen the edges to make them crispy.

November 26, 2024 at 10:54 pm #294082We bought the Ninja 15 in 1 about 14 months ago and whilst I was a little worried that it would become an expensive cupboard ornament, (We paid about £250) I am so glad my wife talked me into it.
We use it for so much, including cooking large joints on the steam roast function for melt in your mouth meat, par boiling roasties on the pressure function for 2 minutes and perfect results, fantastic bread, using both the prove and steam bread functions and amazing crackling covered pork joints using the roast function and temperature probe. It is also brilliant for all of the normal air fried stuff. So quick and so cheap in comparison to the normal oven.

We have the 7 in 1 Ninja, I’ve not roasted a chicken since we got it. I slow cook with 250 ml of chicken stock. Sit chicken on sliced carrots and onions, salt n pepper on top add stock set to high and cook for 5 hours, lovely moist chicken. Even did a turkey in it last Christmas.
November 27, 2024 at 1:58 pm #294138Yet again the Mrs gets what she wants
Our kitchen is better equipped than Nando’s
The rubber mats underneath is to enable them when in use to be easily pulled forward with a tug of the mat ensuring they are kept well away from the rear power cable,as it gets quite hot back there

Do you bother brown for the last 15-20min on air fry setting?
November 27, 2024 at 5:58 pm #294157@kezo, I do sometimes but I try not to eat the skin, even though it’s lovely when crispy, there’s too much fat.
November 27, 2024 at 6:40 pm #294161Not airfryer related but we always cook beef in our slow cooker
Cook on Max 4.5/5hrs cut a few carrots in big chunks place in the bottom sit joint on top
No liquid required
Leave alone, once cooked /cool/place in fridge overnight then ready to slice
If needing it hot place slices into a oven tray cover with heated gravy place in preheated oven then serve
The best/moist/tasty beef ever, every time, same cooking method with a leg of lamb maybe less cooking time than the beef depending how you like it,ours 3.5/4hrs

I tried a silverside joint in the slow cooker but it was really dry, I think it would have been best totally covered with stock rather than an inch at the bottom.

We Dont do that no need our method works perfect every time
Our slow cooker is a simple Asda 6 ltr cheapy with simple high low settings (use high)
I suspect its the cut as we only use the cheaper roasting joint
Give that ago you will be amazed how well it cooks

Started cooking beef joints (brisket etc) in slow cooker every since I tasted my mum/dad’s slow cooked meat a long time ago. I either do on bed, as Ele, with no fluid or put just under half a can of stout or red wine in and which ever method always comes out juicy and suculent.
