First time that i will be submitting an application, does anyone have any input from their own expierience on how to maximise the chance of success with it.

Trying to find cars that fit my needs, cars that have the specific kit,how do you do that, things like heated steering wheel, electrically operated heated seats with memory (entry/exit auto adjust upon unlocking car) and powerlift tailgate, reverse camera with sensors, automatic gearbox.

Do you have to trawl thru all manufacturers brochure’s to identify the above or is there another way.

Guess what in response to #143010

        48 hours has passed.

Got passed caring now,its only a week to Q2,so whats the point in rushing now,so if they offer anything they can base the offer on Q2 prices.

A different case manager called yesterday and left me a message to call her back Lyndsey is her name,so i called her this morning i was getting excited that a desision might be close, eventually i got to speak to her and she says she was standing in for Kathryn ( my original case manager) as she is off for a week or more now,she starts by saying looking at Kathryns notes and what she has put down after speaking to me…….i said owd on Kathryn has never spoke to me,its other stand ins that have.

Anyway she begins where the others began going thru things, she ended by saying she will get back to me by the end of next week hopefully with a desision.

What i did ask her do the case managers have to search manually to “fit” the candidate’s requests thru all the car manufacturers, she said yes they do.

Got my sympathy there then,i would have thought they would have had a “tool” that enabled them to search motabilitys car database in finer detail than the one which we all have access to.

          Q2 here i come.

MickC I’m a bit confused. How come you got a grant before deciding on a car. If you don’t know what car to go for how do you know the amount of grant to ask for?

                  Hi @Jaro

it doesn’t work like that if you apply for a grant they decide the cars to choose from and the Ap advance they will give so for example you could get to choose from a Toyota at nil Ap right up to Peugeot 208 for £999 Ap it’s then up to you to decide the car to choose from.

looking on motaclarity they say the following have electic heated seats but not all have memory

                    ateca fr sport

                    tuscon premium

                    xc40 r-design pro

                    gla premium plus

                    2008 its a grand extra.

i think you will struggle to get all your wishes

Mitch they’re not wishes, they’re probably needs caused by disability.

                      Auto – obvious one

Heated seats – again obvious choice for lots.

Heated wheel crucial for those with arthritic, pajnful hands or like me with hands that go very cold when held at heart level or above esp.

Electric tailgate plenty of us can’t easily operate a boot

SUV – right size to fit disability kit

The avg fit/healthy driver has wishes & some choosing their car have extras they Wang that they don’t need but the only bits the grant team will consider paying towards are needs not your wishes so I’m told.
