I read that Scotland is going to replace Motability with the Accessible Vehicles and Equipment Scheme  and for Scottish people their current Motability car will be their last.  Anyone know the detail?

Answering my own question, I see that Motability is an accredited provider under the Scheme. I guess that leaves it open to there being other accredited providers.  Is this likely to mean Motability getting some competition?

That wasn’t my understanding wigwam but I have no current info. I was under the impression that things were to stay as is but that could have changed.

              From Scottish Government website:

              Accessible vehicle leases and equipment
People who get the highest rate of the mobility component of CDP will be able to transfer either the whole or part of the money they get for the mobility component to access the Accessible Vehicles and Equipment Scheme. This new Scottish scheme will provide a service similar to the current Motability scheme, with a range of cars, wheelchair accessible vehicles, scooters and powered wheelchairs on affordable leasing terms, with a range of adaptations at little or no cost. Clients who have an existing Motability lease will be able to retain their vehicle until the end of that lease.
