Accessibility Data (or lack of!)

Why does the motability website wait for autocar to (sometimes) provide the accessibility data? Surely they must realise that for many (possibility the majority) of their client base accessibility measurements are as crucial as all the other criteria?

I find it hard to believe that they can’t tell all the manufacturers that as part of the criteria for placing a car on the scheme they have to provide an accessibility data set. The manufacturers probably have it anyway!

That way we might be able to filter vehicles using accessibility fields safe in the knowledge that cars that actually might be suitable are returned in the results and not omitted!

It’s supplied by Rica,  tho not always up to date on motabilitys search function.

        Go direct https://www.rica.org.uk/content/mobility

Don’t get me started on Motability’s outdated car search grrrr.

this site has good info to search a car then check if it’s on the scheme.

Well ok RICA, even so, still be better if the manufacturers had to supply it?

I know what you mean and the rica.org site shows models that are several years out of date as they don’t seem to catch up on facelifts or updated models.

When I looked at the Ford Kuga last year they had the Mk 1 model but the latest Mk2 chances are the dimensions have change and even if they haven’t your left wondering.

With VW it’s a bit easier as their brochures have a diagram with measurement in them but admit I’ve spent much time in showrooms with a tape measure.
