When I contacted Douglas Park in Glasgow I didn’t mention I was on Motability incase I got the Old Chestnut about it being for a different type of customer
Mini UK did call me back to ask how I got on with my test drive , when I told them it didn’t happen she was full of apologies , I’m sure she spoke with them to try sort it out but basically they are franchises and if this particular one cant offer them then they can’t offer them
I think test drives across the board are becoming harder and harder to get
I did a lot of visiting dealers with my pal over the past few months , she had Merc GLA and was keen on Seat Areca or a VW T Roc
but despite there being loads of dealers around the Glasgow area and I mean loads! she couldn’t get a test drive in an auto of either , Called Ayrshire and Edinburgh aswell but no joy! she hasn’t driven a manual in years , so their suggestion of driving a manual T Roc then Auto Golf didn’t exactly thrill her
she isn’t on the scheme , but once I got my Tig R Line Tech she quickly changed her mind to that and actually collected hers a week ago
so we found it practically impossible to get a test drive in the auto car she wanted in any spec let alone the exact trim level she wanted , which in an ideal world you’d want to test drive the exact same model that you wanted to lease
do this seems to be the way that things are now
very frustrating , annoying and regarding folks with disabilities even more so when maybe some of our needs are a bit more accute than others
