As Brian and Philjb have mentioned, can sometimes be an issue on AWD systems, but that is primarily from different rolling radius of tyres, as opposed to tread pattern etc. Freelander 1 is renowned for needing newest tyres (largest) on the rear and a max of 5mm diff between rear and front and never have fronts remotely larger than rears.
