The excess mileage charge is actually increasing by 500%, not 100%
I completely understand why everyone focusses on the CEOs remuneration, and I agree that it’s excessive for a monopoly, but just as valid a challenge to me is the excessive remuneration of all levels of staff in relation to comparable roles elsewhere. It is quite common for even junior staff to receive Christmas bonuses of £2,000 to £4,000 every year, on top of their gold plated pay and benefits package, and as they have around 2,000 staff this adds up to many millions of pounds that we are paying for.
