Sadly not going too well https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/747816?fbclid=IwdGRjcAQFGKlleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAo2NjI4NTY4Mzc5AAEeYg0UxgRKTw5y3_NQuG2CrLct8DbBLej-kYuRIFHKNASME6OwrWT-NrCRp_M_aem_2YfsXw-dELWqdaf2kdEizA
A strange approach, as these petitions are about trying to influence government decisions and, unless I’ve missed something, I don’t think that the imposition of these smart boxes is anything to do with the government. Isn’t it a decision between Motability and Direct Line to (supposedly) clamp down on abuse and reduce the risks from less experienced drivers?
To be clear, I’m not in favour of an extension of these boxes. I recall when my youngest daughter had to have one for the first year after she passed her test and I felt very on edge whenever I was driving the car as it was constantly scoring my driving. Even driving with extreme caution I could never get 100% and the fact that there were consequences if I inadvertently did something wrong took the pleasure out of driving.
